Tutors, learners and experts can record their voices promoting learning conversations, lectures, dialogues, etc. Through diverse methods, it can be a medium of learner-centred education.

According to Merrian Webster dictionary, a podcast is "a program (as of music or talk) made available in digital format for automatic download over the Internet".
Podcasting can be used to share information through the web in order to be available for a bigger number of users, or learners in this case. In a pedagogic view, learners can have access to seminars, lectures and they can revise them once and again to get a better understanding of specific information they want to know. Podcasting enhances the learning process of students who are better at listening than at reading articles. It also contributes to having access to different English accents which makes the listening experience more vivid.

Podcasts can not replace lectures but they certainly can serve as an extension to the classroom because 1) you can play back lectures and reflect on them 2) you can record voices of experts in some professional sphere and use them in class 3) you may get learners involved into some autonomous out-of-class activity when they act as producers of learning content. Classroom is like a textbook, but a podcast is like a touch of the real life, it gives an additional dimension.
