In my opinion the main challenges in the integration of Cloud in schools are: lack of trust in data security and privacy by users and a sort of cultural resistance from many teachers to share data and change traditional ways of working.

I think right now there is not another option but migrate to the cloud. The digital world is there, and if a VET school want to train the new professionals to do their job in the companies, it’s a basic strategy to adopt the trends that are spreading through the companies.

The main challenge we have is the students and teachers training and the second one the safety. As always the weak link are the persons. We are around 140 teachers and every year the 20% of them can be different. Most of our students are in the school for 53 weeks but some of them just for a few weeks. So we have to think about formulas to offer the training all of them need. The second challenge is the safety, students and teachers are not very aware of the risks in the digital world; we have policies for the use of digital services but you need to be pushing once and again.

In my area, till now, we are not using cloud services for direct teaching-learning purpose. But we are applying e-Primary School system using server of head office of Bangladesh primary education. In this system, every focal teacher is responsible to enter students educational data ( different exam performance, attendance etc.) into the system. After entering data, e-Primary system's auto-generated reporting system develop report instantly. It has opportunity to see the data every department of primary education system ( school to country head office). This report helps school authority and the system to understand what is going well and which areas need to be improved as well as it also helps them to develop performance improvement action plan for locally and nationally. Besides this teacher are developing digital content and sharing this contents into the web-based teachers portal. Through this portal, teacher can collect content by downloading any time and any where from the country and use it for his/ her classroom activity. Our main challenges, till now we are unable to ensure adequate bandwidth all over country, capacity building of all the teachers equally. It will take time but we are trying heart and soul to cover ASAP.

The main challenge is technical: teachers must understand how to use the cloud. It is not so easy at it seems. Teachers must understand the improvement communication may have by using the cloud. The possibility to have everything you need for your job everywhere, at anytime on any device.

The main challenge is also created by organization: the administrator of the cloud must be on the very forefront, he must do, think and know anything to get the project start and develop. Once everyone has understood how to use the cloud and the administrator has developed it, the cloud could innovate schools.

The connectivity is not a problem because the speed of Internet connection is constant in Portugal (public schools) .
One of the small problem we had is that we needed to teach all teachers to use the cloud services...

I think the main challenge we will have is budget. It should now be possible to get a connection that will allow the required speed but we have to provide adequately fast Wifi before cloud platforms become possible, and we may need to try to fund some access devices (eg Chromebooks). Also there will be work involved in administering these adult education classes and the time for this (creating access for GAFE etc.) will have to be funded or a volunteer found. It would also be important to evaluate Microsoft Cloud although I think GAFE is preferable for ease of use.
My own experience of using cloud tools with students: Dropbox. Don't. They all get confused and delete each other's work by accident. GAFE - excellent. Prezi - makes some people motion sick but a nice break from PowerPoint. Edmodo - excellent especially for younger kids. Padlet - falls over a lot. So build an alternative in your lesson plan. But most of these are free! Isn't that wonderful?

In my school we are implementing G Suite right now and for some of my collegues it is difficult to think, for example, that a "virtual pen drive" is as reliable as a physical one. And by far more flexible, useful, eclectic....It is also a key to many other webtools, like the ones mentioned in Teresita's video. However, I think that teachers mustn't be cowed by too much technology at a time. There are some simple webtools that are very easy to use and videotutorials on how to do it!

One of the challenges is the fact that a single cloud service will not serve all purposes. The school administration has to interact with the Ministry intranet (is it an intranet? Certainly it is heavily protected and not accessible to the public). Then there is the electronic register, which is just going to be bought (outsourced) from a company. After that, there is the school site, which is hosted somewhere (a different company). Finally there are services that are of the "Software as a Service" type: some of us are using the Edmodo platform for digital classrooms. Despite this wealth of different services, we are still using an old physical intranet with its own authentication credentials. This is where we may access the school modules or old training (Professional Development) materials that have been shared in dedicated folders.
This situation is difficult to understand for teachers who find it difficult even to write a mail!

We decided to build our own cloud which is not reachable from outside. We use confidential information’s and data and we don’t trust to external clouds built on servers that are maybe not even in Europe. This solution has proved to be good for our needs. For students we use learning management system based on Moodle. The application is running on external virtual server managed by us. We can also use cloud services offered by the public organization, founded by the government for storing the documents and archiving. We don't agree the Google cloud is the right option for the school needs. We have great responsibility regarding the private security of data we are handling. Is not acceptable that the data are stored on Google servers not even in exchange for free use. Let's get real, nothing is free.

Student data should be managed by the school admin function. All that is needed to facilitate a student using google classroom or EDMODO is an email address. If you use the compliance system in Gsuite and monitor the student use it provides strong protection. Also you can restrict student accounts for internal use and provide a whitelist of acceptable external domains, Padlet, EDMODO, Khan etc. No student data need be processed between students and /or teachers on Gsuite and thus we stay private. The Admin function can be run on a school server and not integrate or interface with GSuite. You provison GSuite from uploading CSV files and we do this annually for new entrants of approx 150 students. It takes about 1 hour once you have the input data on CSV which can be downloaded from the school admin function.but not interfaced through an API or from the LDAP system.

I think there are several challenges:

- It makes us absolutely dependent on the Internet connection. This connection is getting better, specially with fiber connection, but for example, in computers using wifi sometimes is not so good.
- When they use documents in collaborative way, they have to be aware about revision historial, because they get confuse when there are some people using the same document.
- It is more simple if there are a group of teachers using the same tools, because the learning time decreases for each subject, and students take profit of what they learned with the same tool in different subjects.
- Some cloud tools appear and disappear (for example titanpad, dipity, etc...) with the problem of materials created in them that you can't export. Again, when you externalize a service, you become more vulnerable.

Obviously there are a lot of good reasons to integrate cloud computing in the school. I think that first of all we have to design how are we going to do that. We need to establish a plan.

We have to review the network infrastructure and make any necessary improvements (if needed) to support all the connections.

Then we have to explain and train teachers (according to their skills level).

Some of them will see this as an opportunity to improve their classes. Others, will see it as something that would complicate too much classes. We are afraid to innovate when we are not familiar with tools. So I think that training and the further support are fundamental so that the teachers are not discouraged with the use.

The next step would be to adapt the schedules to the new work tools

And finally start working with cloud computing services in our classes.

On the other hand, our computering classroom has 12 old computers (also with windows xp) that don't allow us to work easily.

I think like many others her on the Padlet have mentioned that the main barrier for using cloud storage are the teachers. They need training to use it by themselves and they have to feel that they are safe using it before they are willing to try it with their students. They have to be aware of how simple and timesaving it can be to change their teaching habits. It is also a good contribution to the debate about the environment to save paper or trees using paperless communication/collaboration.

It is always nice to hear about what is happening it other schools around the world. The project you showed is very interesting and it is possible to take your project and use the process for all kind of projects.

Some of my teachers have been using all kinds of cloud computing f.ex. Padlet, Prezi, Google applications, Dropbox, Showbie and etc.

I think Cloud Technologies are very important in educational process. They provide collaborative space for students and they can reach their resources from each device - tablet, smartphone, PC, laptop. They can also be used for making better connections with students' parents and help those who have some learning difficulties f.x. using Voice typing /input in Google docs and using Drive for sharing workbooks (pdf) and some extension make it easy for students to use the computer for writing text to the pages.

Our main challenges using the Cloud computing is the Privacy. Our students are young and many of the cloud based software have the age limit of 13 years. Also new laws for Privacy protection for under age children are not allowing us to put any information to the cloud services. We have to work and learn much more about security and if and how we are allowed to use the cloud in our school with the support of our community and IT department.

I really believe in the benefits of using these tools in class and also in school departments. They favour collaboration, creativity, and sharing and they also reduce costs and time in accomplishing tasks and projects. I have also succeeded in persuading many colleagues of the advantages of using them through constant training and tutoring, planning afternoon workshops during which teachers can prepare their own lessons or activities with me as a trainer supporting them. Now this has become a peer to peer lab where teachers exchange ideas and suggestions. I am also the G Suite for edu admin and I am training my school colleagues to use it. More and more teachers are engaged in using technology in class and they have won their resistance and fear. The problem is the wifi connection that should be implemented.

The principal obstacle in this last case is the data protection and other rules that worried me.
Talking about technical aspects, I see that without a clear school policy, teachers use those services at their own risk: different brands or companies, no security plans, difficulties with sensitive data,... I hope in the near future my school (and other), have an structured plan for integrate ICT and cloud services in the day a day life of the institution.
