I resonate with the idea that despite life often being mundane, every day should still be considered a special occasion and thus should be viewed in a romantic lens. And oftentimes, art is that romantic lens that I put on on days when life seems especially mundane. And I put on that romantic lens through my hobbies.

I would say that I often have a lot of thoughts swirling in my head about many different topics. And I often have a lot of things to say about those topics, so whether it be about my thoughts or a concept I'm interested in, I enjoy journaling about them for hours on end. I thoroughly enjoy the feeling of not getting distracted by anything else and being solely focused on my thoughts.

Drawing is one of the earliest hobbies I picked up when I was a kid, and it's a hobby I am still trying to improve on. Most of the time, I draw fan art of Genshin Impact characters that I like the design or story of, but sometimes I also like to make my own characters and create a backstory for them, too.

Even though reading is one of my favorite hobbies of all time, I try to avoid cracking open a new book when I know I'm busy because I tend to be entirely consumed by whatever I'm reading. I usually read for at least 4 hours without wanting to stop, which wouldn't be good if I'm busy and need to accomplish other things. So, my hobby of obsessively reading is mainly reserved for academic breaks.

During my infancy, I already showed an interest in books, even though I couldn't read, and I spent a lot of time scribbling in sketch books and on the walls of my rooms. When it comes to my social self, I was confident and sociable, and oftentimes would greet and talk to people a lot.

🌙 Adolescence

When it comes to my physical and competent self, I don't think I've changed much since I think I still look relatively the same, and to this day, I still am interested in the same things and have been good at the same things I've always been. But recently, to further strengthen my competent self, I've decided to try out new things I'm not 100% comfortable with, like trying out new clubs even though I know my skills won't exactly be aligned with them. I think I have changed most when it comes to my social and psychological self because, unlike when I was in preschool, I'm quieter, but I still like talking to people, and psychologically, I definitely have more negative thoughts compared to when I was younger, but despite that, I remain pretty optimistic.

When I was a toddler, I really liked learning about new things my mom taught me. And, when it came to my competent self, I was really good at memorizing things, which made it really easy for my mom to teach me and prepare me for preschool.

When I was in preschool, I already showed a strong interest in science-related subjects. I was even evaluated by a guidance counselor, and she said I displayed an inclination and aptitude for science-oriented subjects like chemistry and astronomy.

Overall Reflection

Yes, I found the Personal Development subject helpful. This subject has encouraged me to reflect on my mental health, relationships, and goals. It led me to have a better understanding of the different aspects of being a person and how one can work to improve them.

My key takeaways from the subject are the importance of working on oneself in all aspects of life, rather than just focusing on one (such as academics only), since these different aspects are interconnected. An example of this is how important it is to work on your mental health and overall competence, as they are often interconnected and can impact your self-esteem. These takeaways have enabled me to identify and change self-destructive patterns, allowing me to continue growing and improving as a person.

The topics on mental health and wellbeing, as well as career pathways, were my favorites. These two topics were my favorites because not only were they interesting, but they were also highly relevant to me, given my current life situation. I was able to apply the topic of mental health to better cope with the daily stresses I face, and the topic on career pathways helped me gain a clearer vision of who I want to become and what I need to do to achieve that goal in the future.
