Near the end of the book Granger says “... So they must have their game out thought Montag. The Circus must go on, even with war beginning within the hour” (Bradbury ). This quote could very well reflect the new and media in Fahrenheit 451. In the book’s world news and media have drastically changed especially the creation of fake news.The news are always usually trying to change the minds of people, because of this people will start to believe about different things, and ideas that the news spits out. Even though the news  is usually more manipulative than a lot of other sources. “The Chase continues… Granger nodded “They’re faking. You threw them off at the river. They can’t admit it. They know they can hold their audience for so long” (Bradbury 141). This reveals that the news mixes the truth with lies, Montag was being chased earlier and now they are faking the rest of story because he lost them and they won’t admit it because they don’t want the people to know the truth about Montag throwing them off and the news picked an innocent person to kill as a scapegoat. The media in Fahrenheit 451 tries to brainwash people by luring them to keep watching shows on the tv and even make people think their “family” is on the tv. “It’s really fun. It’ll be even more fun when we can afford to have a fourth wall installed. How long you figure before we save up and get the fourth wall torn out and a fourth wall-TV put in? It’s only two thousand dollars”. “That's one third of my pay”. “ It’s only two thousand dollars”, she replied. “And I should think you’d consider me sometimes. If we had a fourth wall, why it’d be just like this room wasn’t ours at all… We could do without a few things”.  “We’re already doing without a few things” (Bradbury 18). This quote reveals that Montag’s wife doesn’t really care about him, she only cares about herself more and her tv “family”. Bradbury shows that the news and media are manipulating people by feeding them misinformation and giving people one side of the story instead of the truth. “... We must all be alike. Not everyone is born free and equal, as the Constitution says, but everyone is made equal” (Bradbury 55). This reveals that the people in Fahrenheit are forced to be in some way equal as in not reading, restricting and censoring the people. “The White Clown is on tonight.” (Bradbury 69) There is some symbolism in Fahrenheit for example Bradbury has a tv show in their world called the White Clown. White usually represents innocence and more, but mostly that isn’t the case maybe the news are hiding behind a mask, the media could be recording conversations listening in on what there saying, they could also be recording people to see what they are doing maybe like hiding books, etc. This also would show that the government knows so much about an individual person that they can push that person to their limits. “The Hound half rose in its heels and looked at him with green blue lights flickering” (Bradbury 23). The hound in Fahrenheit 451 could be a government weapon like some sort of technological spy. Most likely the real purpose of the hound  is to make people uncomfortable instead of feel safe the government are trying to put people in their place try to scare them maybe if so far to kill them so that the truth about the bad side of the news and media aren’t leaked out into society so people don’t rebel and turn their back on the government forever.  “We burned a thousand books. We burned a woman” (Bradbury 47). For example recently the news brought back up about talking about the Russians and bringing a negative view on them, The most negative view is that they colluded with Donald Trump to basically destroy Hillary Clinton's campaign and the news is pushing with that idea to make a lot of people believe that Russians are mean and manipulative. The news and social media sites try to destroy people by looking at the negatives about a person, thing, or idea. “... It didn’t come from the government down. There was no diction, no declaration, no censorship, to start with, no. Technology mass exploitation…” (Bradbury 55). In Fahrenheit 451 people try to say there was no censorship even though there is, that is extremely true in our society today. Another example of personally and politically destroying someone would be the old FBI Director from 2013-2017 James Comey, He like many people today are being accused and lashed by top officials like Donald Trump and the press about how he allegitally messed with the Hillary Clinton Email investigation and the Russian Investigation. He was fired to ease the “pressure” Trump was under during the Russian Investigation. Because of these things and ideas about James Comey he has been being tracked down by the press and media to answer “questions” about what he did and what he didn’t do, they have gone so far to track him down just walking on the streets and currently going to serve 3 years in a federal correction center. “Censorship: official restriction of any expression believed to threaten the politica, social, or moral order” (Encyclopedia.com). Sometimes when the news is trying to be blacklashed by people they normally ignore it or cover it up about a controversial topic to try to draw the people’s attention somewhere else to try to seem unbiased about almost any topic. Also that when people get backlashed by a top official or the press no one really seems to back up the one individual who is being targeted. The media tries to manipulate people’s point of view by creating misinformation for example someone could use photoshop to replace a political sign in a picture or even make it look like an official's twitter account said something bad about someone or something. In the end the press and social media will always try to break someone mentally or in some way physically to start to resolve some of these issues people need to learn how to stop the spread of misinformation and try to stop the corruption that rapidly spreads through the nation.
