The statistics reveal that Gen Z watches over 50% more hours of online courses compared to any previous generation. While this could be attributed to Gen Z's higher online presence, it also demonstrates their commitment to skill development.</p><p><br/></p><p>As a result, creating a valuable <strong>employee experience</strong> for the next wave of workers requires a strong focus on effective, inclusive, micro L&amp;D.          <description><![CDATA[<p>Gen Z is more comfortable with interactive, social, and tech-based learning. They grew up in schools that integrated technology and collaboration into curriculums. They are also great at independent, self-guided learning.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>I should know - my son was born in 1998, and I taught most of his friends and peers during their elementary and middle school years! I get where they are coming from.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>But comfort doesn't guarantee enjoyment or effectiveness. Understanding their learning preferences is crucial.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Boring Lectures are OUT - FUN is IN!</strong></p><p>Nobody likes a long-ass, boring, "I just read the Powerpoint Out Loud to You", Sit &amp; Get workshop session. Not only did you end up with a numb butt, but chances are you didn’t gain any knowledge, either.</p><p><br></p><p>Only 12% of Gen Z learners like lectures. They prefer personalized, self-paced micro courses &amp; workshops that are highly engaging, relevant, and purposeful.</p><p>Doesn’t EVERYBODY?&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Microlearning Matches Media Expectations</strong></p><p>Gen Z consumes short, attention-grabbing content. Their training should reflect this with bite-sized learning chunks. Microlearning increases retention and provides a sense of accomplishment.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Don't Ignore Mobile</strong></p><p>Gen Z learners are always on the go, constantly connected to their devices and social media. This means that traditional methods of training and learning are no longer as effective for this generation. They crave interactive, social, and tech-based learning experiences that keep them engaged and entertained.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Include Work/Life Wellness as an Integral Component of your Learning Culture</strong></p><p><br></p><p>Gen Z is the most stressed and anxious generation. Nearly 70% report significant problems with anxiety and depression. They struggle to find balance and can be skeptical employees. Investing in learning and development can attract and retain new talent.</p><p><br></p><p>Gen Z wants stability in the workplace.
