From the video that madam Syakirah showed us, I just gained my general knowledge and knew that Singapore is where the world most busiest airport is located. From there, I watched all the process involved in loading and unloading containers from ships. A lot of procedures is required so that the all the event occur runs smoothly and one of it is safety requirements. From the old times, we mostly use human labor at the port, nowadays with the numerous number of containers the handling from machines are used. Singapore is the busiest port so it requires a lot of expert people to handle it from time to time. In order to manage the port, cooperation is important between managers and workers so that everything will be handled smoothly. Every different items handle with different packaging, some must be doubled and some must be in hard container, some require temperature such as perishable items: fruits, flowers, foods etc. Other than that, maritime people must afraid of height, and need to be ready to face challenges on board such as ship hijacking by the pirates on 15/9/2004 and also there was an explode on 6/10/2002. Managers and operators must be alert and aware with the environment to avoid collision between ships, traffic jammed, loss of items on board etc. There are lots of regulations need to be followed in order to cross to another country such as customs letter, documentation etc. This video is very interesting because the shipment people face different problems everyday and it is full of inputs. Singapore ports consists of 4 phases, 5 containers per hours can be unload and each of quay crane can unload at least 2 container in one time. ships that transport containers may unload 560 container in one day while shipment of cars may be unload for 400 0000 cares per day. transporting the container to the next point needed a high security system and Singapore port (Brani ways)  has been installed an ID scanning system with password for the haulier driver, scanning and camera instalment to detect the code of the container in 1 second, scanner for alpha ray for the safety and inspection.  for the traffic control , there are draft of naked box for the movement of the ships that shows imaginary traffic junction to avoid collision . in 1970 computers were used for communicate but nowadays a controller called brain of vessel that connect to the controller cellphone and port traffic control centre for communicate, tracking and controlling. Singapore made money to establish their economy by this ports. thus this ports hads been develop until 4 phases. the phases consists of cassion, wharf decking and sands. this phases built for quay crane and ships parkings. each yard have 100 0000 container and the types of good separated through yards. perishable goods such as fruits will be scan for temperature and quality checking. at September 2011 the ports had installed a system for environment security to avoid oil crudes. First of all, thank you Madam for showing us the video, an awesome yet informative video indeed. From the video, I know that Singapore is the busiest port in the world. It shows how everything works at the port, including the quay crane controller, the traffic control, the security to exit the port and many more. Before this, I did not know that there is a person in the quay crane that controls it, I thought that the people control it from far away, so now I know hehe. Same as the traffic control, as it is very important to control the traffic and ensure the safety of the vessels from colliding with one another, so they have to have a tight control, communicate with one another and always alert if there is another vessels in front or nearby just like the airplanes. However, there are a lot of obstacles need to be faced such as the hijack of the pirates like we saw in the video. It was very unexpected because the pirates could hijack at the Singapore port that actually should be secured tightly.
