Jacob Lawrence was born September 7th 1917 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He died on June 9th 2000. Jacob Lawrence was an african american painter known for his paintings of the harlem renaissance, modern art and also cubism and social realism. He was the first african american artist to have his work featured in the museum of modern art. He is known for his migration series painting that is colorful and tells the story of the great migration. He completed that collection at age 23. The impact Jacob had on art is that his paintings told a story about tough times for african americans. The reason I chose Jacob Lawrence is because he is black like me and our birthdays are both in September.

Jacob Lawrence was born on September 7, 1917 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Other places where he lived were New Jersey, Washington , Pennsylvania. He was trained and mentored by Charles Alston at the Harlem Ar Workshop Center. The media he used on his art work were tempera or gouache on paper or cardboard. The elements of art he used are lines, shapes, color, texture, and value. The techniques he used frequently were cubism, modern art, social realism, Harlem renaissance. Something interesting about him is that his art work does not show actual graphics or details. His most famous art works are MIgration and War series. An obstacle he went through was that he dropped out of school when he was young. He overcome this obstacle by continuing to work on his art. He also suffered from depression. He overcome this obstacle by getting help at a hospital. The impact he left on the world was how he used his talent and paintings to talk about stuff that was happening in the world in a narrative way using art.

The first ride that I would get on is the one called Splash Mountain. I would also like to get on all the water rides, they are all my favorite. I will take lots of pictures with all the Disney characters in the park. I'll plan to fly there when my family is sleeping and be back before anyone notices.

I was sitting at my window bored when suddenly I started to fly. I knew exactly where I wanted to go. I went to Seoul, Korea and wanted to go there since lots of anime is from there and not on netflix. I saw lots of shops and anime stores. I flew to the ramen shop and bought a lot of ramen and tteokbokki and when heard my mom (I heard her because I know her voice). I quickly flew back home. When I got back, I told her all about my adventure .The End

It was a normal day when I woke up or so I thought. I started walking then all of a sudden I started flying. Since I could fly, I flew to Mexico. It was so pretty. I saw my grandma and grandpa and I hugged them. When I was there I started missing my family so I flew back to my house. The next day it was school. I did not want people to know I could fly so I put heavy rocks in my backpack so I could stay on the ground. It was really heavy! Luckily it was just a dream!

One day, while in school I was so tired. I felt like passing out. I laid my head on my desk but then instead of going to sleep I started to fly. I was shocked and everyone looked at me. I took my stuff and flew home. When I was flying home I saw the school garden and trees and a lot of buildings. I flew to the park and talked to my friends at school and I flew back home. It was the best day ever.
