The content of these workshops will be approached with reference to the local context and the developmental needs of students at this important stage in their education. We will also be working with some selected speech and choral speaking elements from the Main Lesson Curriculum as a means of exploring how this aspect of language teaching can be successfully enacted by teachers in the Middle School. 

In this course, we will learn to understand how Physics and Chemistry are taught in the Grade 6, 7 and 8 at Waldorf schools.

The Waldorf approach to science aims to cultivate the sense of wonder and reverence to keep the interest in Natural science alive.  We create learning experiences in where students learn to observe these natural phenomena and connect them to their daily lives.  Physics and Chemistry should not be taught abstractly as these processes are part of our real life experiences which we yearn to understand. 

In Physics, the subtopics covered are : Acoustics, Optics, Heat, Magnet, Electricity

Chemistry: Combustion, Acid/Base, Nutrition (organic chemistry).
