My Community: My church, Christianity

These are photos of me with my grandparents who taught me and my family the learnings of christianity. My grandpa was a preacher, and someone who worked within the children classes, teaching, singing, and sharing the word of christ. I also have a community from the church I go to here. I volunteer in the kids section of the church, taking on a role represented from my grandpa, and a way that I give back to my community.

Constantine was a Roman Empire, who had a vision during the battle of Melvin Bridge in Rome (312 CE), which he credited towards God, and was one of the first to embrace his Christianity. This helped in the upcoming allowance of Christians and how society had started to accept Christianity and even recommend it.

This is the Civil Rights Movement. Known to be activists and organisations fighting for equality and justice for African Americans. It was also led by Martin Luther King Jr. and other figures who were deeply rooted in christianity beliefs, fighting for equal rights, and to love others. He had a nonviolent approach, which was also inspired and intertwined with the teachings of Jesus. This movement led to great success, which led to more inclusivity within society. This triggered social change within christians, by making them reevaluate their relationship of social change and their faith, providing safe spaces for the rallies and organisations as well as after the civil rights movement. Also highlighted a lot of historical affects of christianity, and reevaluating the true meaning of christ.

This is one of the middle schools near me and my church. For many summers now, we go over to this school and help with the front yard, as well as painting inside. We also use this school to organise food boxes during thanksgiving and hand those out to people who have signed up. This is something that helps the yards of the school, the environment for the kids in the upcoming years, and it helps the kids at the church learn hands on work and to value what we have. It promotes collaboration, social issues, empowering within the younger generations, and giving back to our community, other communities, and Mother Nature.
