         <description><![CDATA[<p><br/></p><p>Yanek's Literal Journey</p><p>Yanic and his family lived in Krakout Poland. But it was just a blank of an eye, their city was invaded by Germans beginning World War II For now. Yanek and his family remained in Krakout. For a little while they stayed in the flat where the several other families. <strong>Anti-Semitic</strong> rules have been put in place that persecute Jewish people, taking away any rights they had. Over time, walls are built up around the ghetto to contain the remaning Jews who have not bean killed.</p><p><br/></p><p><mark>Yankek's Figurative Joyrney </mark></p><p>With the stress of no food, and constant hiding, Yanek is living in fear of being caught by the <strong>Nazis</strong>. His emotional state is one of constant terror and panic at what awaits him at every turn.The unknown aspect of the war leave a feeling of being unsettled. Yanek's early life as a 10-year-old boy before the war was very normal. He attended school, played with friends, and went to the <strong>synagogue</strong> with his family. He loves his mom and dad and looks up to them but as War continues Yanx begins to doubt his father's constant hopefulness and positivity and wonders who is really right his father or his Uncle Moshe.<mark>"I still worried he was wrong, but fresh bread made me forget all about my troubles. For a little while, at least." (pg. 25)</mark>  Doubting your parents for the first time is a struggle Yanek especially in a war-torn Poland.</p>]]></description>

They also can be used as a way to scar jews.   </p><p><br/></p><p><mark>Yanke's figurative journey </mark> </p><p>Yanek gets deported from one concentration camp to another, losing his sense of humanity and hope each time. He faces more pain at every new camp, but he also starts to develop a survival instinct that helps him keep going. The harsh conditions force him to adapt, and even when he feels broken, he learns to hold on to small moments of strength, like his memories of family and his will to live. His journey is about finding the strength to survive despite the darkness around him. Even though he is physically trapped, Yanek's spirit grows stronger as he refuses to give up.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Ch. 14 The image shows that Yanke and plenty of others had to carry huge boulders back and forth making them feel weak and miserable.</p><p><br/></p><p><mark>Yanke figurative journey </mark></p><p>Yanek is now at the Trzebinia concentration camp. One day, he and other prisoners have to move a huge pile of big rocks from one side of a field to the other while being hit by SS officers. When they finish, the officers make them move the pile back. Yanek was sent to Trzebinia soon after he got to the salt mine. He thinks Trzebinia is worse than the other camps because the Nazis here treat the prisoners like toys. Yanek is angry as he starts to move the rocks back, but he knows that if he shows his anger, he will get punished.</p><p> </p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><mark>Yaneks figurative Journey</mark></p><p>Finally, after the Allies won the War against Germany and the Naizs retreated from the  concentration camp Yanek and many other Jews were staying. They all woke up one morning to the concentration camp empty and at first, they thought the Naizs were tricking them but after a while, there was no sight of soldiers. Then the Allies were at the entrance of the camp with their tanks and ground soldiers breaking down the geats and some Jews ran back into the barracks but some stayed waiting for their faith then when they saw the American flag on the tanks they all were celebrated and some dropped to the ground crying.  </p><p><br></p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><mark>Yaneks Figurative journey </mark></p><p>After the American Soldiers saved the Jews they were moved to Munich and the Americans gave the Jews food water and a bed to sleep on. Then the next morning they got moved to the liberation area where Yanek saw Mrs. Immigril his old neighbor who used to yell at him for bouncing the ball in the alleyway. Mrs. Immigril said it's so nice to see you and she told him about his cousin who survived too Yanek visited him and his cousin talked about why Yanek should go to America and start his life over and fresh. Also, he talked about the jobs he could get when he goes to America and how he can get there when he has no money his cousin told him there was a thing for the Jews who survived the ww2 and they would give the Jews cash and a free flight to America.  </p><p>   </p>]]></description>
