As you can see from the pictures below, Belize has a lot of different types of geography. There are tropical rainforests that cover more than 50% of Belize. There are indeed some rare species that live in the Belize rainforests including Jaguars, Scarlet Macaws, and many others. On the coast of Belize, there is a 175 feet long Barrier Reef that is mixed with lots of caves and islands. This is a popular tourist spot and creates lots of money for the country. There are also many mountains in Belize on the south side. This is also a very popular tourist spot. Last but not least 58 miles east of Belize is the opening to an ancient ice age cave called the Blue Hole and is a popular diving site.

Bellow is a house that a poor person might live in, About 30-40% of the Belize population lives in poverty. These people got fired from their jobs if they ever had on in the first place and then after that, it is hard for them to find another job because they probably don’t have a good education. 76.9% of Belize population (Over 15) can read and write. Most of the people in poverty cannot read or write, which is the reason it is so hard for them to find jobs.

The middle-class lifestyle is better than the poverty people, but it is not the same as the United States. Most families have enough money for food and a place to stay, that is it. Most middle-class families send their kids to school when its free, but after they reach a certain age it is not free anymore. School in Belize is free until they are 14. Very few people in Belize go on with education. If people from Belize do go on about half of the people, have a hard time and quit.

Not many people that were born in Belize become rich. The rich people that live there now mostly moved to Belize after they got rich. (See the picture of a house they might live in below) There is also a program that is trying to get people in America to retire in their country. Middle-class people in America would be considered very rich in Belize, and people would not have to learn a new language because most people speak Spanish and English. There are also tax benefits and many other things that are trying to get Americans to retire in Belize.
