These 150 Jewish kids were separated from their families when they were just 14 to 16 years old. It would be the last time that these kids would hug their family for a while. They boarded a train and headed off to Denmark. They left the family and friends in Czechoslovakia. Although some survived most perished.

In Denmark, life was pretty good for those who survived: They got to keep their lives unlike so many other Jews in the Holocaust. They also didn't need to wear a yellow star. But, they were still refugees, and as the war continued the Nazis were always around. As they worked they became like a tight knit family. In some of the Southern regions they met once a week "offering each other a modicum of stability and continuity in a sea of change."

Later in life 6 of the 150 kids that were taken away have found each other and reunited in Neve Ilan outside Jerusalem, they came together for a wonderful and heartbreaking reunion. That had been the second or first time they had ever been re -antiquated with their fellow friends since world war 2. These young adults to adults had just gone through a terrifying experience but had gone through it not alone, but together. So sharing stories and shedding tears was one thing they could do and remember together.

The Danish families

The 150 kids have now been sent of to different Danish families in some word places. These kids had been put to work on farms. If you are probably thinking why would they work on farms. Well When working on farms is a way to prepare the youth kids for their escape. This plan has worked most of the kids escaped. They went to Mandate Palestine or Israel.
