<title>Causes of climate changeThe earth&#39;s climate is dynamic and always changing through a natural cycle. What the world is more worried about is that the changes that are occurring today have been speeded up because of man&#39;s activities. These changes are being studied by scientists all over the world who are finding evidence from tree rings, pollen samples, ice cores, and sea sediments. The causes of climate change can be divided into two categories - those that are due to natural causes and those that are created by man. First, we need to take a closer look at the Greenhouse Effect and gain a better understanding of it. When you do this, you will find that this is one of the main causes of the climate changes that are taking place currently. The warming of our atmosphere is actually happening because the atmosphere is continuing to trap the heat that radiates from the earth and traps it between earth and space. There are gases that can play a part in the greenhouse effect, and most of these gases will actually block the heat. This is what happens to force the climate change, and this is the part that we can’t do that much about- other than going greenThe Industrial Revolution in the 19th century saw the large-scale use of fossil fuels for industrial activities. These industries created jobs and over the years, people moved from rural areas to the cities. This trend is continuing even today. More and more land that was covered with vegetation has been cleared to make way for houses. Natural resources are being used extensively for construction, industries, transport, and consumption. Consumerism (our increasing want for material things) has increased by leaps and bounds, creating mountains of waste. Also, our population has increased to an incredible extent</title>

<title>In its Fifth Assessment Report, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a group of 1,300 independent scientific experts from countries all over the world under the auspices of the United Nations, concluded there&#39;s a more than 95 percent probability that human activities over the past 50 years have warmed our planet. Climate change is because of a build up of carbon dioxide in out atmosphere.Certain gases in the atmosphere block heat from escaping. Long-lived gases that remain semi-permanently in the atmosphere and do not respond physically or chemically to changes in temperature are described as &quot;forcing&quot; climate change. There are many factors that leads to the climate change caused by human activities such as deforestation, releases of harm gases and open burning or industrial activities.Firstly, deforestation is one of main factor in climate change. When forests are cut down, not only does carbon absorption cease, but also the carbon stored in the trees is released into the atmosphere as CO2 if the wood is burned or even if it is left to rot after the deforestation process. It is estimated that more than 1.5 billion tons of carbon dioxide are released to the atmosphere due to deforestation, mainly the cutting and burning of forests, every year.If we carry on cutting down the main tool we have to diminish this CO2 build up, we can expect the climate of our planet to change dramatically over the next decades. Forests are vital for life, home to millions of species, they protect soil from erosion, produce oxygen, store carbon dioxide, and help control climate. In other word, forest also play a critical role in absorbing the greenhouse gases that fuel global warming. Fewer forests means larger amounts of greenhouse gases entering the atmosphere—and increased speed and severity of global warming. In addition, the burning of fossil fuels like coal and oil has increased the concentration of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2). This happens because the coal or oil burning process combines carbon with oxygen in the air to make CO2.The burning of fossil fuels contributes to the largest amount of air pollution mostly due to the fact that many human activities are directly related to the use of gasoline and other fuels in order to keep items such as engines and furnaces running. The largest source of air pollution due to fossil fuels being burned is vehicles. Due to their large number and the length of time they are run, carbon monoxide, the gas given off by trucks and cars, is constantly released into the air.It is closely related to the greenhouse effect, which is considered to be the cause of the warming of the Earth.Apart from that, other pollutants are released into the air due to the burning of certain materials. Particulate matter is the direct result of burning items such as wood and plants, which happens both from human activity and natural fires. The industrial activities that our modern civilization depends upon have raised atmospheric carbon dioxide levels from 280 parts per million to 400 parts per million in the last 150 years. The panel also concluded there&#39;s a better than 95 percent probability that human-produced greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide have caused much of the observed increase in Earth&#39;s temperatures over the past 50 years</title>
