well, there are multiple reasons to travel around the world, but i personally think that the most important one is because it helps us to have a wider world view, to learn about the types of lifes of other people, to understand different cultures, to grow as a person.

Even when we were just hominids we travelled. Of course there were other reasons such as finding food or a place to live in, but those weren't the only things we got from such a great activity.

My favourite thing about travelling is the feeling you get when you are surrounded by people who talk a totally different idiom. It may not seem as much, but for me this is the time were you really understand the size of the world we live in, the gaps between one culture and another and the bridges you have to make to be able to get to the other edge.

This is one of my favourite videos on youtube, and i think it illustrates pretty good what i've been talking about on this padlet. It talks about a make up word called Sonder, that represents the feeling we get when we realize that every single person on the world has a life just as complex as ours.

This is another youtube video related to the topic, made by the same channel called Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows. It talks about a make up word that represents the awareness of how little of the world every person will experience. Its both pesimistic and realistic at the same time. It doesn't matter when, but sooner or later you will have to content with the blank spaces on your map.
