The Syrian conflict is caused by both a imbalance of power and the belief that one group is better than the other. The imbalance comes from the government having ruled with a dictatorship for so long. Also both sides feel as though they are superior to the other. This makes a agreement to end the was very difficult .

General Petroleum Corporation and Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company informed Israeli energy officials that they were “terminating the gas and purchase agreement” under which Egypt had been supplying gas to Israel. The Egyptian-Israeli gas link was one of the most significant outcomes of the 1979 peace treaty between the two countries, and its annulment clearly signals a period of greater discord.

Israel is land that has been well sought over and has caused much conflict. Originally, the Jews said god gave them the land around Israel and settled there. At some point the Jews left the area to head to Egypt, and seeing that it was vacant, the Palestinians came and settled the land themselves. When the Jews came back, a feud began on who should get the land. The Jews said God had given it to them, and the Palestinians argued that they had been living there for years. In the 1900’s the distribution of the land began and the Palestines lost almost all of it.
