Good morning, everyone. The passage that I chose is number 41 and 42 in 9월 모의고사. It is about what FOMO and JOMO are; FOMO is the fear of missing out, and JOMO the joy of missing out. Since I’ve become very interested in social psychology lately, these two interesting syndromes made me research them more. Today, I’d like to introduce you to how FOMO syndrome affects today’s real estate market.
Have you ever hear about panic buying? Panic buying occurs when consumers unusually buy large amounts of product in anticipation of a high price increase, or a shortage. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, there have been many panic buying events worldwide. As house prices and stock prices have risen at record levels all over the world, many young generations in Korea, especially people in their 20s and 30s, bought apartments or stocks by pulling everything together, which is called 영끌, or by taking out too many loans to invest in the market, so-called 빚투. The anxiety about falling behind others like FOMO is one of the main factors influencing panic buying. As a growing number of loans are taken out by individuals, the unrelenting surge in household debt has become the biggest downside risk to the Korean economy. Due to the economic instability, many people who have been overbuying real estate and stocks due to anxiety are now causing damage not only to themselves but to the entire economy.
Likewise, FOMO syndrome not only has a detrimental effect on our physical and mental health but also influences the property market, and finally harms the entire economy. We sometimes think everyone makes money but me and others might have rewarding experiences that we are not missing out on. Like the solutions mentioned in the passage, however, it will be necessary for us to accept JOMO in our lives, which is to be satisfied with the present and to be aware that we can miss out on anything at any time. Let’s enjoy missing out. Thank you for listening.

지문: 2018년 9월 40번
지문내용 요약: 문화적 지식의 작은 차이조차도 학생들의 학습에 영향을 미칠 수 있다.
Hello everyone. The passage that I chose is number 40 in 9월 모의고사.This passage is about small differences in cultural knowledge affecting students' learning. In addition to cultural knowledge differences, I wanted to find out what factors affect learning, so I researched more about it. Today,I will introduce you how mind set affects learning.

With what mind set do you participate in learning?!Here's an interesting experiment conducted by Carol Dweck. First, researcher provided two groups with an easy problem. Showing their score, he praised Group A for his intelligence, such as "You're so smart." However, he praised Group B for their efforts, such as "You tried so hard". And then when we gave two groups a difficult math problem, group A students gave up quickly, while group B students thought it for a long time and tried it, and most of them eventually solved the problem. This experiment shows a fixed mind set and a growth mind set. Group A, which has a fixed mind set, believes that their intelligence is already fixed and cannot be changed even if they tri. However, Group B, which has a growth mindset, believes that they can improve their intelligence through their own efforts. People with a growth mindset make additional efforts to succeed. They thought Low scores or difficulty in learning do not mean learning failure. They can produce better results because they increase self-directed learning and constantly strive and grow.

In addition to cultural differences, mind sets can have a lot of influence on learning. Therefore, we should all try to have a growth mindset rather than a fixed one. Not only students but also teachers should praise students by focusing on their efforts and processes rather than their results.Thank you for listening.

지문: 자이스토리 L 23번
지문 내용 요약: 리더들은 섣부른 결정을 하지 말고 인내심을 갖고 판단한 후 결정해야한다.
Hi, everyone. The passage that I chose is number 23 in xi story.
It shows hasty decisions are the main cause of decision failures and examples of good leaders. Today, I’d like to introduce you to examples of good leaders in the field of airplanes that I'm interested in.
Do you know well about air pilots? Air pilot is the most important job and it can be considered the leader of an airplane. The most famous example of the flight pilot's incident is the Miracle of the Hudson River. The incident occurred in January 2009 when a plane from New York made an emergency landing on the Hudson River because of a bird strike. The air pilot glided the broken engine like a glider and launched it into a river. It's a case of momentary judgment. Next is the incident that occurred in May last year. Last year in the United States, there was an incident that two planes were hit in the air and were shocked to the extent that they were halved, but there was no casualties. It can also be said that the pilots' momentary judgment and execution were outstanding.
Like this, the pilot has a heavy mission and mental exhaustion. Isn't a true leader an air pilot who overcomes all moment and keeps passengers safe? The text says that hasty decisions are the main cause of decision failure, but in the case of exceptions, instant decisions such as airplane accidents have a great influence on saving people. Thank you.

I picked the 38passage in 9월 모의고사. It was the passage explaining acclimation and adaptation.

I learned about them in life science class, so I’ve become interested this passage. And this made me explore more examples of adaptation and evolution.

Have you ever heard about “Natural selection”? In Natural selection, Darwin suggested that among the individuals with diverse variation, the one who is best adapted to the environment is selected and leaves offspring. One example of natural selection is that in Africa, where malaria occurs frequently, a number of people with sickle-cell anemia(낫 모양 적혈구 빈혈증) relatively high. Thus, through this repeated natural selection, evolution occurs in a way that one build better character.

The Appearance and Evolution of Antibiotic-Resistant(항생제 내성 세균) can be explained by this Natural selection. At first, every germ in group has no resistance to antibiotics. But one day, mutations(돌연변이) led to the appearance of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, and when antibiotics were used, resistant bacteria more survived and left more offspring than non-resistant bacteria. As a result, a number of Antibiotic resistant in the group increases

Like this, adaptation and evolution have taken place through natural selection. I wonder what will be selected to survive in the future. This time, I showed about more examples about adaptation with Natural selection; sickle cell anemia and antibiotic resistant. I hope you understand them well. Thank you for listening

The passage that I chose is number 3 in M part of Xistory. It's about the immune system that recover our body by generating special cell when our body detects dangerous bacteria. When I was in poor health, doctor mentioned 'autoimmune disease' and I became interested about it. So today, I'd like to introduce an autoimmune disease that causes problems in the immune system.

Have you ever heard about 'autoimmune disease'? Autoimmune disease is disease in which immune cells that protect the body against external antigens respond to autoantigens and attack themselves. So, it makes our bodies vulnerable to infection. It occurs throughout the body such as chronic fatigue, mild fever, and weight change. Typical examples are lupus, rheumatism, autoimmune thyroiditis, and multiple sclerosis. Among them rheumatoid arthritis is a disease that causes inflammation in the thin membrane surrounding the joint. It usually occurs in the hands and knees, causing joint pain, and also leads to vasculitis or lymphoma. For the treatment of autoimmune disease uses immunosuppressants or anti-inflammatory drugs. The cause of the disease is not known exactly, but stress is considered the main cause. In addition, the incidence of this disease is increasing, which is affected by the irregular lives of modern people.

Likewise, autoimmune disease is a risk of prolonged illness and leading to various complications. Therefore, it is very important for our body's immune system to function normally. To do so, we should try to maintain a regular lifestyle and get as little stress as possible. Let's protect our precious immune system and live a healthy life! Thank you for listening.

In my opinion, this attitude suits on diplomacy between nations not only on individuals. Of course every country pursue their own benefit and development. They will steal from each other, don't care about harms they give to the opponent.

(결론)They might obtain what they wanted by the violent activity, but I'm sure that's not the only way.

자이스토리 E 11번
내용 : 사람의 태도가 삶을 변하게 한다

Hello everyone! My name is Haeun.
The passage that I choose is number 22 in 11월 모의고사.
It is about our attitude. The passage states it is important to care for our attitude. The author tells us it can bring positivity to our lives. For example, it allows me to anticipate, excuse, forgive and forget, without being naive or stupid. While I read this content, I remembered another book I read before which made me choose this. The book’s contents are about doctors of psychology that are affected by patients. The book says that some doctors reject burn patients because of their image. Doctors carelessly determine their disease. But when the doctor concentrates on them, they could find the real disease then the patient can live! So the author tells us not to allow our attitude to miss great opportunities like caring for a patient. After I read this passage, I can find the relation in the book I read. So I learned something new. Thank you for listening!

Today, I’m going to tell you about F2 in XI. It is about advantages and disadvantages of medical development. Since I’ve been interested in medical science, I researched more about results of medical development. Today, I’d like to introduce you if life extension due to medical development is just good.

Have you ever seen a patient in an intensive care unit surrounded by various medical machines? We can often see it in hospitals. A patient can be a recoverable, but be a person who has a slim chance of survival and has only suffered continuously. According to National Statistical Office, 77 percent of people's deaths are medical institutions. This result is caused by two institutional reasons. First, guardian’s medical obsession is increased by low copay, amount paid by consumers after health insurance is applied. Second, because of the law, the medical staff must use a ventilator to the patient who don’t have recoverableness. Obsession with medical care can cause meaningless life-sustaining treatment. Sad to say, although there is a hospice, in which by hospitalizing patients close to death they can get comfort, this will only prolong the suffering time of patients.

Likewise, medical development can prolong patients' suffering time. I’d like to emphasize that the practice of medicine is a double-edged sword. So I think we should be careful in medical practice. Thank you for listening.

It is about the reason why teenagers behave in unreasonable or dangerous way is the rate of frontal cortex development. I researched about what problems would happen if teenagers do something that is hard on their frontal cortex.

Do you know that the age group of people who take the smartphone in the first time is getting lower? If parents give the smartphone to children, they can handle the work easily so the percentage of children under the age of 3 who take the smartphone is increasing. If children are exposed to the digital devices, the problems happen in frontal cortex. The function of it includes the ability to resist impulses and control emotions.

To this reason if it doesn’t mature healthy, lack of attention and ADHD will arise.

Dr.Walter Mischel of Stanford University in the U.S. conducted marshmallow experiment on infants from the late 1960s. The marshamllow experiment can identify the children’s patience by giving them marshmallow and cheking the time they don’t eat it. And he followed up on children after decade. The surprising results of this experiment were that children who had longer patience than those who didn't are more healthy and take the high scores. According to this, We can check the function of frontal cortex.

Finally I’ll explain that we can’t expect the healthy development of frontal cortex to children who are getting addicted to smartphone and gradually losing their patience. Hence I’d like to emphasize that you express and controll your emotions rather than doing smartphones often. Thank you for listening.

지문: 수능특강 p.72 5번
지문 내용 요약: 호르몬의 작용범위는 국소적효과와 원거리 효과가 결합되어 나타나고 그 예시로 인슐린 작용이 있다.
Hello everyone. The passage I chose is number 5 on page 72 in 수능특강. In this passage, hormones work at a distance and at a close range, and an example is insulin response. The insulin response is a reaction that when too much insulin is released that lowers blood sugar, other hormones are produced, inhibiting insulin secretion and maintaining the body's blood sugar level. After reading this passage, I wondered what would happen if the insulin response did not occur normally.

What would happen if the insulin response did not occur normally? Diabetes occurs. Diabetes means increased glucose concentration in blood and urine. Diabetes can be divided into type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is caused by high blood sugar due to the inability to produce insulin, also known as childhood diabetes. It should be treated by injecting insulin into the body. Type 2 diabetes, called adult diabetes, is mostly caused by acquired causes. It is caused by a decrease in the response of the target cells of insulin, which is caused by environmental factors such as increased junk food intake and stress.

So far, we have examined diabetes that occurs when insulin response does not occur normally. We can prevent type 2 diabetes. Why don't we reduce our junk food intake, create healthy eating habits, and take a step away from diabetes with constant exercise? Thank you for your time.

It is about importance of rest, and different according to rest time. Whenever I reminded create the music and copy. Today, I’m going to importance of rest time.
Have you ever after study for very long time? Maybe you will be very tired. In the book Laziness does not exist by social psychologist Devon Price, rest is very important. In my case, copying music requires a lot of focus. Listening to same part out loud sound for long time copying will tire ears and make difficult to focus. In this case, I do not take a break, may not be able to hear the sound well. After doing something like this for a long time, you should take time to rest and calm down.
It's sleeping, studying, or music, you want to take a rest after doing something for a long time. Koreans tend to think that if rest, they will afraid of falling behind others, So they don't try to rest well. A lot of people have a hard time with this. Even if you don't do it right. If you are a person who works really hard in your work, I want you to take a break and do it. Let's all do our best without overdoing it. Thank you for listening.

지문:수능특강 75쪽 11번
지문내용: 서로 다른 경험의 차이로 인해 의사소통의 어려움이 생긴다.

Hi, everyone. The passage I chose is page 75, number 11 of the 수능특강. This passage is about differences in different experiences creating difficulties in communication. I'm interested in medicine, so I've looked at cases related to this, thinking that this problem might be related to medical terminology.
If you were a nurse, which mask would you bring when a doctor told you to bring a mask? The nurse in this case chose a dental mask. It was an emergency situation where the patient's oxygen saturation was low. The doctor urgently told she to bring a mask. What the doctor needed was an oxygen mask. But the new nurse brought a dental mask and put it on the doctor's mouth. She thought the doctor needed a mask. It was a lolsob accident caused by a slight difference between the official name she learned when she was a college student and the medical terms actually used in clinical practice. Each hospital has a different abbreviation, so new nurses sometimes cause such big and small accidents every time.
In urgent situations, it is better to speak short and concisely. However, if the other person does not understand it, it will only backfire. This is because, as stated in the passage, each individual has difficulty in communication due to different experiences. It would be good to use the correct name so that such small mistakes do not lead to major accidents. With this, I'll end my presentation. Thank you.

The passage that I choose is number 11-4 in 수능특강. It talks about increased interaction with the physical environment due to information technology, which we are more familiar as IT. Ironically, I suggest that we in the modern world may not require a physical environment because of IT. Today, I'm going to talk about the interactions with space, which is also a physical environment, shifting as information technology gets advanced.

In the era of digital transformation through science and technology, the space is changing in a very rapid and revolutional way. Especially among those, the development of ICT and digital transformation rose by easing the limitations of physical distance in human activities. Various space-related information technologies such as high-speed Internet networks, digital devices like smartphones, and cloud services have been added in our daily lives. These technologies have made the boundaries of space flexible than ever. Through this, we could say IT really made an end of separation, by introducing new technologies and changing the real world into an alternative form.

As with the increase of physical interaction, cases that no longer requires physical environment are also inevitable nowadays. Information and physical environments work closely together, but eventually they change the way of how we live. One day, maybe the digital world can be the main world we live in, rather than the real world. Do you think information technology can replace the physical environment like this? Thank you for listening.

The writing compares the appearance and disappearance of changes to the movement of the river and argues that they accept change like a flowing river. Because I'm interested in economics, I'd like to introduce to you today that the arguments in this paper can also be applied to the economy.

Economic change is caused by various factors such as climate problems, COVID-19, and war. In particular, COVID-19, which has continued since 2020, has caused Korea's economic growth rate to fall. I think the economic situation would have been much more depressed than it is now if we had resisted the change in the economic structure caused by COVID-19. But I think we've made a better economy by accepting and dealing with it.

So I've applied the argument of question N11 to the economy. I think it's really important to accept and respond naturally rather than fear losing something due to change. This can be applied in many ways in addition to our lives and economies, so we should always keep that in mind. Thank you for having listened to me so far.

Today I'm going to read and talk about the difficulty of communication through other interpretations. Do you ‘thanks’ or ‘realize’ the word 'appreciate' when you see or hear it? Each person will have a different meaning. Have you ever experienced this word as well as other words? In this text, the meaning is based on a symbolic interpretation of what others convey. We can't get into someone's head to know what they mean, can we? So we rely on our interpretation of the use of symbols such as words, gestures, and other actions that can represent anything else. Our response to what others say is based on our own experience. Due to that, our communication difficulties are often based on different interpretations of the same symbolic word or gesture. In this paper, 'hungry' is an example of understanding. So that we can sympathize with the person who is hungry even if we are not hungry in personally. I think it's fun that one word has various meanings.

Why don't we look for other words that have many meanings together? Don't you think it'll be fun? So, our body will recover. And the immune system fights off subsequent infection by the same virus more quickly. For example, if we had measles, we're not to get it again. L found that there is a resist-system that's the opposite of this immune system. Do you know that there is the opposite system? An example of this is AIDS. The AIDS virus attacks white blood cells and lowers the immune function. These data are from the National Centers for Disease Control's website. So what I want to say is that humans have an immune system that allows them to do away with bacteria that have come in.And AIDS is the opposite, this cause the immune system to collapse.

Hello. Today, I will present about architectural design that affects people's experience in the contents of 자이스토리 K1. Safety and functionality are essential in architecture, but the design of the building is considered irrelevant. However, in architecture, the design of space creates human identity and also forms our perceptions and emotions. Let's find out how the design of space affects the formation of identity.
We grow up in a certain space from birth. People announce their space by marking small traces in their own world of life. And it forms identity through that space. Humans live in a space that reflects different desires. Therefore, various spaces affect the formation of different identities. And the identity depends on what space you are in. The me at home and the me hanging out with my friends at school are different.. Depending on how you relate to people in the space surrounding you, it affects the formation of your identity and changes your identity.
Depending on what space we live in, each other's identity change and different. And if the space we live in changes, our identity change together. Therefore, we are greatly influenced by space in shaping our identity. Thank you for listening.
