The thing about that is that there are multiple witness reports from the Warren Commission Hearings that state they heard gunfire coming from railroad tracks west of the Texas School Book Depository, not the grassy knoll. Another one of the witnesses was near the grassy knoll and he looked up from were he thought the shots were fired from, but did not see anyone in that area. From this it can be inferred that if there had been an assassin, this guy would have seen him at some point, but he didn't, therefore JFK couldn't have been killed from the grassy knoll, because someone would have seen the shooter.
