Spinoza, a 17th century philosopher, was one of the first to declare that Nature is the god we all should worship. For this age it was an outrageous idea but for us it is one of the most important moral concepts that needs to be embedded into every person’s consciousness. I meet more and more people to turn back to nature with respect, who share their knowledge and invite to take purposeful actions for protection and safeguarding our natural and cultural sites, giving the meaning and value to preserve our personal and national identities in the process of globalisation.
Photo: into the Cave Víðgelmir, located in a lava field called Hallmundarhraun. The lava field is named after the troll Hallmundur, who is mentioned in Grettis saga . In the saga, Hallmundur helps out the main “hero”, Grettir, and then offers him to stay with him and his daughter.

Today i simply loved to listen to the troll stories, specially the one about the troll lady who was caught in daylight and turned out in stone but she was happy with that fact. She was smiling probably because she felt like she was at home, where she was comfortable and happy. She didn't mind to end like a stone, she just want to be happy.
I think that we as humans beings should only stay in the places where we feel like the troll lady, happy!

Lots of new experiences today, we had an adventerous journey. A lava cave, stories about trolls in Fossatun, waterfalls...It certainly was eyeopening to see these different places. Nature is so near here in Iceland, you can feel, see and get in touch with it. To hear Steinar Berg to tell us the story about the troll faces hidden in the waterfall was interesting. We also had a bit of excitiment on our way to see the cave. A detour that made us realize how unpredictable the conditions here are. Had a great day today!!

Today I lived unique experiences, which allowed me to learn about the volcanic formation of the island, its relief, mother nature and its phenomena. I delved a little more into the mysticism that contemplates the Trolls, through an Icelandic writer. It was an intense day, full of significant learnings, which enrich me as a person and teacher. I am very grateful for the opportunity to participate in this course.

I’ve learned many interesting things today. All of them are connected to the powerful elements of nature: humans as creative agents (troll stories, art made out of stones); vulcanos as shapers of the landscape and tunnel diggers (lava cave); and bus drivers being able to transform a simple trip of teachers into an exciting adventure 😂. What a great day!

In the heart of the earth, suspend time by suspending the light just for a few secondes. Without seeing each other, without speaking, we reconnect with ourselves and every living thing. Tradition is written every single time. Folklore is a modern and contemporary process of creation. Custom is freedom, creative and dynamic rules.
Ivan Illich told us that modern tools of communication prevent us to communicate. Other one "property is robbery"... So...
For a few years from my home, there was an airport project "Notre Dame Des Landes". After nearly 50 years of resistance and creation of many generations and differents people the project was abondonned.
Pro-airport says "some people want defend nature ". This is a source of inspiration for artists and for the Icelandic people.
In the afternoon, with a visit to the center of the earth, in the lava cave, we once again contemplated the natural beauty of Iceland, created by the most important forces of nature on this island: fire and ice, which over time were sculpted in this work of art that is Iceland.
In conclusion, nature is, at the same time, the work of art and the artist...
It was a day full of emotions and beauty.
