Media, specifically the Function of Media, is a concept that I enjoyed learning about. It contained a description that I didn't expect, but it was funny enough to me that I'll remember it. Media was described as the government's watchdogs. The description stuck with me because it seemed so accurate and intelligent but honest. Independent media, especially the news, takes its watchdog job seriously by investigating and reporting on government wrongdoing, keeping them accountable for their actions. I like the term watchdog used to describe this important role of the media.

The courts concepts interested me . I was surprised to learn that judges and justices serve lifetime terms in office. At first, I thought it was a bad idea because people's tastes change and some judges may want to end their term after years and years to live another life. However, I later learned that judges and justices serve no fixed term. Instead, they serve until their death, retirement, or conviction by the Senate.I enjoyed learning about the existence of a Supreme Court. The idea of having a higher court to handle complex matters while regular judges take care of regular cases seems logical.So much that I wonder why have I never tough of it existence .

Civil liberties

In my opinion, civil liberties hold a crucial place in our society. However, before taking this class, I was not aware of their existence. I enjoyed learning about the difference between civil rights and civil liberties. My understanding is that, civil rights guarantee equal treatment from the government by the constitution, whereas civil liberties are the limitations imposed on government power to protect our freedom. I am pleased to have discovered this concept as it promotes a fair and just society where everyone has equal opportunities to exercise their civil liberties.
