Michael Moore uses a mid shot with setting in the 'what a wonderful world ' scene to portray a sense of patriarchy to the audience. In this scene, a mid shot is used to interview the spokesperson for lockhead martin to show a sense of formality. The setting behind the mid shot is in the weapons factory, which is used in combination with the mid shot to show the audience that he is proud of the work he is doing , which is creating missiles for the military to use against other countries. This combination has the effect of placing fear in the audience by showing them he isnt bothered by the destruction his company makes. the director uses these combination of shots to contrast with the next segment in the scene, which is a montage of americas historic destruction. This link was created to further show the audience that america is both proud and ignorant of the destruction it has done to other countries.

The director, Michael Moore, uses irony throughout the 'What a wonderful world' scene. Moore uses the technique of music in this scene to show irony. He uses the song 'What a wonderful world' by Louis Armstrong while showing a montage of mass killings executed by the U.S. This shows irony because Armstrong's song is explaining how beautiful he finds the world by describing the perfect nature and people. The montage shows the complete opposite of this- the mass killings, which is ironic. the irony in this scene makes us feel irritated at the U.S because their actions are the complete opposite to a wonderful world.

In the documentary Bowling for columbine directed by Michael Moore he shows a montage of all the mass destruction that the U.S has done over the last 48 years. This is shown in the montage where Moore uses the film technique Fade in and fade out this is where short clips and images fade in and out from blackness which represents death and evil and fear. Morre juxtaposes this earlier on in the scene when he's interviewing the spokesmen of Lockheed Martin, who supplies the U.S military with bombs and missiles. “ we don't irritated with somebody just cause were mad at them drop a bomb or shoot at them”. Moore shows the audience that he disagrees with the spokesmen in the montage by naming all the places the U.S contributed to bombing. Moore gives an impression through the writing on the montage that he doesn't think it was worth the U.S helping. Moore also plays “Wonderful World” by Louie Armstrong in the background of the montage contrasting what is showing on screen, this states that the world isn't a wonderful place.

Michael Moore uses close up shot on the add advised by the bank to show how easy it is for anyone to get a gun when you open a new bank account. The scene is edited to make it look like Michael got the gun the same day of application, when in reality it happened days later. When Michael gets the gun he walks out triumphantly with happy music playing in the background. The scene emphasises how easy it is to get a gun even with the background check. The background check does not let criminally insane people get guns, but people who are not convicted of a crime can get a gun.

This is most likely a mid/long shot, with no music in the background just dialogue. In this scene big man buy gun Michael Moore signs for the gun, background check was needed but it was still very easy for him to acquire the gun.

Screenshot 3)
A mid close up shot showing Michael Moore collecting his rifle from the bank this shot is showing how easy it is to get a rifle

Screenshot 4)
This is michael moore walking out the bank with his very own gun. This is Long shot where the camera is pretty far back. Michael Moore chose this longshot because.. This scene ends with some victory music playing in the background of the scene.
