• Creating the different bits of the track but it won't be creative in it being a whole new song that's being worked on. So I will play the bass for the song and I will get other ways to play the different instruments for the song. It will be authentic in the second demo where it will be different from the first demo. Where that will just be a cover of the original song. Making both of them creative covers, the first demo will probably just be a normal cover of the song where it will have a bit more rock or metal vibe to it. The second demo might be an acoustic version or a club version instead.

• For my formative work since it's just writing down stuff and talking about what has gone on throughout the week and what I have worked on it will probably mainly be just me and I might get another opinion on it by another person.

I have one microphone and no stands. I want to learn how I can mic the drums up so I can get different sounds that I want to use in my songs and so I can get better at micing up so when I have a gig I can get it done.

To capture the natural sound and dynamics of the kit, choose to use a few microphones, strategically placed to capture the entire drum kit. Elvis loved to read a lot not only at his house in Graceland but also when he went to tour when he was out doing shows. He had loads of them at home his favourite books that he had were "Well worn and well loved".

Don broco:

With Don broco I couldn't find out much at all of what they do in there off time really because there a new band all I could really find was reviews of there songs and when there going on tour I'm going to guess they listing to a lot of music since they are a band.

Done brocos goals I think at the the beginning it was to just make a band and to getup they like most bands want to do. See were they can Make it.

2. As for how disorganised that Elvis and Don Broco can be I think that for Elvis it was very organised because he had his own stage that he played so when they would go to new venues they would build for him to use when he was doing the show.

   2. Don Broco is organised as well from going on tours across the world even tho they are a much small band then Elvis was they probably have the right time for when they go on a tour.

One of the ways that I could implement goals that the artist that I pick could be get on top of stuff and crack on with it like do a day or two of work and check it out the next day to show that I got every thing right in my recherché.

I would say the posts that reach the most people are the ones that of your music like a release date or some album art work of the song. To show that's its being work on or is going to be out soon. Or maybe a contest that you win a prize if you win it or the top 3 winners get a prize and it goes up in value the close you get to being the number 1 winner like free tickets or vip. Some of the sorts.

Don broco: It has effect them in a more bad light as for the lead singer Rob Damiiani he said that it makes him worry about getting a good photo or video for the social media the band uses so for him its in a good and bad way because he use it to promote there tours and music but it annoys him because how it worries him in the moment and not that he can just have a good Time at the shows he is playing at.

I would say the most obvious part production is the bass and drums of the song and how they go together and how you can hear them both as you would in the original song. So you can hear that they go well together.

For what I'm learning about my own sound is that that I can be creative in different ways and also can be quite stuck at time trying to figure that out on how I can make my sounds be better and pop off more. By making my mark on my music it hard in a way but also not I will do it in a way that I can get people to see it and enjoy by putting it in my music somehow.

I think for not falling to pitfalls of the past is that I should be carful with who I'm with and what I am doing at certain points so that I can make sure that I don't do anything stupid or that could kill my career. I can also stay away from this that I could get addicted to like alcohol and drugs and other things that I can get stuck on that could harm my career. Also what my lyrics mean so like don broco I can try and make my lyrics in a way so that people don't take them in they way that they did with Don broco.

What mistakes that I can make to day

For mistakes that can pop up now I would is digital foot print and what can happen online so for example you could have a view on something that some people don't like well they can make stuff up about you and say some pretty bad stuff and rude stuff. On platforms like X and instagram also lets say you put a comment on a post that you did like 5 years ago people can go back and see it now and think you still think the same way. You sometimes still see it on like twitter by people seeing that musicians did a comment on a tweet like 5 years back and people have an outrage about it.

I would say the reasons why I picked the Feel good inc by gorillaz is because i love the song. Each part of it goes together so well from the bass line that goes through the whole song basically to the drums and the snare that come from it. Also to do with why I picked "feel good inc" is because it has lots of different sounds and not just the instruments like how the voices sound from the singing and rapping. How the singing had a radio sounding voice. I would also say why I picked the song is because I just think a lot of people know it and know how it goes so they will like it.

My contribution

My contribution would be the bass, drums and the vocals of the two tracks that I have been working on. For the drums of the tracks they are imid. For the first track I wanted them to be real and live drums but I just didn't have the space at the time so I made them in imid. The bass I recorded at home and the vocals. I also was able to get the H.Q studio book so that I could get the rapping part done with someone that I was able to get in contact with by one of my mates. 

Planning and organisation

The planning and organisation went better later on at the start of it all i was quite confused to say the least. But I was able to plan it out with the help from the 10 week diary that we have been having to keep up with everything. I was also able to make a plan to get the studio so that I could get the rapping part of the tracks done and I was able to plan the guitar part out with my mate so that I was able to get it done for the tracks.With organisation i was able to make sure everybody need to be were where i want them at the time and so i can get on with other parts of the tracks.

Research

The research that I did was mostly on how to play the parts of the song and what notes and tabs that I would need to get so that I could use it or. Show it to someone that I'm getting help from like with the guitar part. I can't play guitar myself But my classmate Dan can so I asked him for help and we had a look up on the tap that was needed for the tracks.I also did research on how i can make my voice sound like a radio like it is in the song. I did research on different sounds that are in the song that i can use so i can make it sound more like the song like distortion,EQ and compression. So id i need to tone anything down i can.

Personal practice and live musical preparations 

The personal practice that I have worked on is my bass playing and my drum playing so instead of having to do midi for the drum parts I can just do them live and crack on with the track that I'm working on at the time. For practice on my bass is just to get better at it altogether and see how far i can take it and see what songs i can play and the ones i need to work towards.

DAW/studio recording

For most of the parts of the tracks they are in my DAW apart from the rapping and singing parts of the tracks. The singing and rapping parts of the tracks were recorded in the HQ studio. For the drums they were programmed into the midi and the bass and guitar were recorded using a forsite. But that's for the first track the second track will be a lot of programs midi so the drums, bass and guitar will be midi. But of course the singing and rapping will be just used again and mixed a bit to sound differently. 

Alternative editing 

The alternative editing will mostly be done to the second track so that it can sound and feel different. When you listen to it, the first track will be edited and mixed so that it comes out in the best condition that it can be. I am also going around looking at different ways that I can make the second one sound more electronic in a way and so that it will sound more like a club version then the normal. The first track will just be a cover so it will need a bit of editing and mix but not loads just some things added to it so it sounds better.

Self-initiated activity

One of the self-initiated activities was trying out midi and seeing how I can play around with it and make the sounds that I want and just working around with my DAW. To see how it worked I have now used the midi for my drums in both my tracks and for my second track I'm using midi for the bass and guitar so it will be an all midi track apart from the singing and the rapping parts of the song obviously. I was also working more on my bass so that i can get better at playing it for my tracks later on.

Professionalism and communication 

From how i have been doing things i have tried my best to keep everything professional to a point and not to joke around a lot and keep stuff quite serious so i can get it done and dusted. For example I was able to plan out and get everything organised and ready so that I could get the rapping part of the tracks that I'm working on done.

Same with the guitar I kept it professional and asked one of my classmates for help and asked them what would be the best day to get it done for the both of us. Communication has gone well with telling people if I need any of their help with stuff or information on things that I might have missed out on.

The description of the tracks that i could give is that they have come along quite well i have gotten the different instruments that i have right now i was able to get them to sound like the song that i'm trying to recreate. For the first version it is a cover of the song and the second version will be electronic/club version that will sound more robotic then the normal version. 

For what I have done with the tracks on a technical level the MBP of the tracks is 139 and I have used EQ,Distortion and I have also used different types of compressors.

Feelings

My feelings on the demos up to this point on working on them and seeing how they have come along from where it started is a good feeling seeing how it was at the start and how it is now. 

My mindset on it is that I just need to work more on it and see where it will take me and how I can work on it and get it to a point that I want it to be at the end of the term.

This is the case because it's in a way all new to me so I'm trying to learn more about it all and catch up to everyone else that's in my class. Also it's my first time trying to make a song without sampling a lot.

Evaluation

For what went well with the demos I would say getting the instruments down like the midi drums and recording the bass was good to get done because most people would say these are the main parts of the song.

What didn't go so well i would have to say is the timing of the bass it is a little off but i'm working on it and the drums a bit wrong as well but they will be fixed.

I'm happy with just making the song to begin with but I would say that I'm happy with my bass playing on the tracks.

I'm not happy that I couldn't get live drums for the tracks so I'm stuck with the midi version that I have programmed in.

Analysis

The analysis of the tracks is that on working on them I have learned a few new things about all this really and on the tracks themselves. For the bass it sounds good and that it will need to be sped up a bit because it feels and sounds a bit slow when you hear it in my track. The drums have a few bits wrong with it and trying to find the right tabs can be quite annoying to find.

Conclusion

The conclusion of this all is that it has gone well all together. I am ready through the feedback and I liked what I saw. The main bit that I will work on is the bass guitar. I will get the timing right for the two tracks and in conclusion everything has gone well and it shall continue to do so.

The description that would have to say of the tracks is that they are nearly done. I have got all the different parts of the tracks that I need and I'm ready to mix and edit it so it can be ready to go so that I can be marked. In these 5 weeks I have gotten the rapping part of the song done. I was able to do that in the HQ water bear studio. I got the guitar part done and the singing part done so its all ready to be put together.

Feelings

The feelings that I have gotten from working on the two tracks have been great. It has had its ups and downs but it has been mainly good all round for the most part. The only time it got a bit frustrating was when I didn't know what to do in a situation when I was working on the track. But it came around and I was able to get on with it and I'm nearly finished with the tracks.

Evaluation

With what went well I would say getting all of the parts of the tracks from the bass line to the rapping and singing. It all has been quite well and good for getting it all together and making sure they sound good.

I would say what didn't go so well would be the timing of the bass and drums. They were a little off so that wasn't good but I put them into a better spot for timing.

I'm happy with all the different parts of the song that I have gotten and collected for the tracks and have been able to put them in my DAW and see them all ready to be put into place.

I wasn't happy with trying over and over to get the midi to work and to get the right bits to sound like the song and get it on time so that I could crack on with it all and finish off the tracks.

Analysis

The analysis of it all is that it has gone quite well all together. There have been some bumps on the road to get to where I am now with the two tracks right near the end of the first term but it has gone really well i got to say. With getting all the different parts for the tracks it took a bit of time after the bass,drums and singing because I can do those bits but not the guitar and the rapping but luckily I was able to get someone who could rap and someone from class who could play guitar. So it has come out all right and just needs to be edited and mixed together and then should be done.

Conclusion

The conclusion to it all was good and done well. I have got everything that I need to do for it all and I have got to now just edit it all together and mix it and add a few things to the second track so that it will sound and feel different compared to the first track. So it's all good and done, just need to work on a few things and we should be under way to this being done.

The 20% that is what comes back from you working the 80% is that for all your hard work you get what you want in whatever that your working on and for me it's making my tracks sound the best they can be and also people that listen to them have a good time and what to listen to them back to back.
