The following genres are differing types of interpretations for my theme of Romeo Juliet. One primary motifs that we can see throughout Romeo and Juliet is the emotions of each individual character. We can see that each person reacts very emotionally throughout the acts and its affects how the story plays out very much. The follow genres will be interpretations of characters emotions played out in the story and the cause/effects of it. In Genre 1, I explain how one of the primary reasons we still read Romeo Juliet is because of the emotions that each charater displays. In Genre 2, I explain how the impulsiveness of Tybalt in the duel led to the banishment of Romeo and major character deaths. In Genre 3, I portray the anger/revenge emotions of Tybalt through a playlist. In Genre 4 I, I explain how there are a mix of emotions at the party from the hate building up inside Tybalt and the young love that is developing between Romeo and Juliet. In Genre 5, I explain that even though the ending of Romeo/Juliet is a tragedy it is the best way to end it and show how it is through another ending which doesn't feels the same as the classic.

Why do we still read Romeo & Juliet - Genre 1

For a broader context, Romeo and Juliet is a love-tragedy story and there have been many adaptations in movies of it because of its popularity. My reasoning for it people popular is because of its overarching idea and how its connected emotion with people throughout centuries. No matter how advanced society get emotions/feeling are the one thing that will stay the same regardless. The bold emotions love/hate/death will always be in human culture no matter what and that's a reason why the story has been so popular throughout the years. The writing style also major in its popularity because its a style that isn't known besides Shakespear and this is one of its most popular pieces. In class we do it to analyze different writing styles and to learn more off that.

Wanted Poster - Genre 2

This is a wanted poster for Romeo after he kills Tybalt. The prince banishes him from Verona forcing him to leave to Mantua. This connects back to the overaching idea of Emotion. When Romeo gets in a fight with Tybalt, it was based on the emotions or impaulisivness that he was feeling from the death of Mercutio. He was in that mindset of he just killed my best friend and now I need to get revenge without thinking with a clear head. This later leads the following events.

Music Playlist for Tybalt - Genre 3

Cry me a river - Justin Timberlake

Heathens - 21 Pilots

Pray for Me - The Weeknd / Kendrick Lamar

Bury a Friend - Billie Eilish

Venom - Eminem

This accurately represents Tybalt because all the songs have an overall dark tone focused on anger and revenge. This connects back to the overarching idea of Emotion because its of Tybalt's hate for Romeo which inevitably leads to his death. His actions for initiating a duel with Mercutio which Romeo wanted no part of was a major turning point in the story because it led to the death of two major characters and the banishment of death. This is aanother reason why Emotion is so prominent in Romeo Juliet and always led to further conflict for characters.

Party Invite - Genre 4

This is the first pivotal point in the story because of many reasons. First reasons is Romeo meets Juliet and almost immediately gets over Rosaline the moment he laid eyes on Juliet. The second reason is that this is when Tybalt gets enraged with Romeo for crashing the party. This leads to the infamous duel which leads both his death and Mercutios. During this event we can see so many emotions being displayed. We can see that hate building from Tybalt that just wants to end Romeo. We can see young love being built between Romeo and Juliet. This party is the start point in many storylines that goes on the the following acts that lead us to the story that is Romeo and Juliet.

Alternative Ending - Genre 5

This starts right after Romeo buys the poison and is heading back to Verona. At Verona, Juliet is under the sleeping potion and is lying in the tomb. Romeo soon comes to the room of the tomb and sees Juliet lying there. He starts crying and goes on this long monologue of how everything that could possibly go wrong in his life has gone wrong. Just as he is about to sip on the potion, Juliet comes to life. Romeo can't believe what he is seeing and they both hug for which seems like an eternity. They both decide that for every minute they stay in Verona, they will be hunted and will be split apart by the family feud forever. So they decide to flee Verona and never look back and live life happily ever after. This connects back to the idea of emotion because the alternative ending doesn't end in sadness or tragedy but in mostly a happy ending. This ending also takes the essence of Romeo Juliet because the most interesting part of it is that they both die in the end thinking that each other is also dead. This ending although emotionally gives the readers comfort, also takes away from the tragedy that is the story of Romeo and Juliet
