When he is hungry he gets different foods to try and he probably eats different colors too in the foods

I think what he means is well he eats in different poporsions and like if there was a lot of fruit then it will come in different shapes and sizes and then he could be i hunger for like life or like well when you wan something from the store then you might not be able to get it but that is an example of hunger or like when ever you want money some people thats what they call money hungrey and then all of the hungers they do come in shapes and sizes lik shoes and money stacks racks and cloths big extra large and the other stuff like food it comes in sizes and thoese are all of the hungers that i know and he had saw the paint had different colors an then it made him hungrey

I think that "But hunger, like food, comes in many shapes and sizes" is a metaphor. I think he means he is hungry for his old life back in the jungle. Poor gorilla :<
