This illustration from a website called Bees In Action, shows us what the main products from the honeybee hive are. The first is Royal Jelly which is a super food that brings lots of benefits to our health from lowering the cholesterol to helping to prevent Parkinson's Disease and Alzheimer's. The second product is Beeswax which not only has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial benefits, but also aids in skin protection. The next product is Propolis which is created by the bees to clean their hives, but it can also be added to vitamins to strengthen bones and enhance sporting performance to name a few. The next product bees make, which is most common to us, is honey. Honey has so many benefits, but most importantly it can help soothe us when we are sick with a cold or even after those nasty mosquitoes bite us. The 5th and final product is pollen, which is fed to the young bees to help them grow faster. Bee pollen also can help with colds and flu and even prevent heart disease. As you can see there is so much good that comes from bees and their honey. Please join me in helping to increase the number of honey bees in our area. It's really so important.
