Today's session has been an eye opener for me in multiple ways that even if I want to think of one best thing out of the day, I can recall multiple such instances be it the team building activities we had, or the conversation we were engaged in and the story with multiple perspectives from my dear colleagues.

The main focus of the session was to break the barriers as a teacher and try new strategies for the changing Educational needs of our students. Few of my learnings are as follows -

Role of a teacher: It is not only to impart knowledge but to be present with the child and help him/her realise their true potential with different pedagogical strategies.
Classroom Environment: With the changing needs of our students the environment of a classroom or the whole idea of a classroom needs to change. It is not a closed room with a board and marker but beyond the books and the room. As a teacher we need to provide a joyful learning experience to our children so that they enjoy the process of learning rather than rote memorise.
Methodology: It is not only limited to a smart board. There so many other things such as children's experiences, objects present in the classroom or outside, Teacher's experiences, Multi-sensory activities, Hands-on experiences etc. We need to realise that every child is unique and that's why their needs are also different. We can't apply the same method of teaching everyday to every child, making the process of teaching-learning a rather monotonous one. We need to upgrade ourselves and our skills based on the needs of our students.
