<title>I thought it was interesting how although black students remain students missing the most days of instruction, from 2011 to 2018 all trends have declined, showing that students altogether are losing less instruction time than they were losing in 2011 </title>

<title>In the recommendation section of &quot; Is California Doing Enough to Close the School Discipline Gap?&quot; I thought it was interesting how they referred to schools making changes when they open up again (because of covid). This makes me wonder what specific changes they are hoping to see in regard to school discipline and accountability. </title>

<title>The California state accountability system for suspensions does not flag districts that are largely increasing in suspensions for the overall trend and can even show that the school is making improvements.</title>

<title>In 2018-2019, high suspension rates are still happening despite the statewide reduction in suspensions for disruption/defiance. Districts with the largest racial gaps are still suspending students for the same reasons as before such as minor misconduct categories. Not much change is happening even with the statewide reductions which shows there needs to be continuous improvements being made</title>

<title>It looks like the gap between black-white student suspensions per 100 has a much smaller skew towards white student suspensions in districts that are majority white rather than black student suspensions in districts that are majority, even a simple majority. This hints at a relationship between the racial diversity of a district and its racial suspension gaps. </title>
