In addition to the baby shower, I watched the movie Bajo la misma luna. It was on the suggested list and the description said it was about a mother and a son. Being a mother to a little boy, I thought the movie would be interesting. It was a very touching movie that really emphasized the mother-child bond. I kills me to be away from my son while I’m just working, and I couldn’t imagine being away from him for 4 years like Rosario. Carlitos is a very determined child to get back to his mother and he faced many complications along the way. My favorite part was when Enrique throws the coffee at the police officers to save Carlitos from being caught even though it meant probably getting sent back to Mexico. Carlitos and Rosario were eventually reunited at the very end. I also heard a lot of phrases that I understood. It was a little more difficult listening to the Spanish while reading the English subtitles at the same time. It was a very good movie because my husband even was very into it.
