Roman art refers to the visual arts made in Ancient Rome and in the territories of the Roman Empire. Roman art includes architecture, painting, sculpture and mosaic work. Luxury objects in metal-work, gem engraving, ivory carvings, and glass are sometimes considered in modern terms to be minor forms of Roman art, although this would not necessarily have been the case for contemporaries. Sculpture was perhaps considered as the highest form of art by Romans, but figure painting was also very highly regarded. The two forms have had very contrasting rates of survival, with a very large body of sculpture surviving from about the 1st century BC onward, though very little from before, but very little painting at all remains, and probably nothing that a contemporary would have considered to be of the highest quality.

First off, Roman art helped us picture the scenes of the past and learn about the history of Rome. Roman paintings really captured the scene of what was going on and told us a lot about their everyday life. Roman sculptures tell us about important people from the Roman time. Roman sculptures also influenced the way we make sculptures today by using marble and bronze to make the sculptures. Roman mosaic work influenced the mosaic work that is often done on floors or walls of a special building. Lastly, Roman architecture affected our lives today in so many ways. A few ways it affected us today are that they made concrete to make the buildings like we do today and a lot of their building and structures influenced building today like domes, the colosseum, and arches.

Using a consuls as a judicial branch, like the present day American government, had control of laws. The assemblies of the Roman Republic created laws such as a legislative branch. The senators of the Roman republic managed financial situations. This impacts because of the use of treasurers in the American government. The U.S. branches are inspired from the Roman Republic. This picture represents the judicial branch which controlled laws like the consuls.
