Recently a police officer in Georgia made a routine traffic stop and said that there is no need to worry because "we only kill black people." in an attempt to lower the tension between him and the woman in the car. I think that he was trying to make a joke, but in the situation the comment was completely inappropriate and a police officer should never say something like that while on the job. As a police officer he represents the community, and his actions should reflect that. I feel that he knows his comment was uncalled for and should not of been said because after he requested immediate retirement. There is no further actions that can be taken against him because he is retiring and I feel that is sufficient because, if he stayed all he would of faced is being fired.

Questions:

Do you think he should face more consequences even though he is retiring?

Also, if you think there should be more consequences what would they be?
