This Island is facing extreme environmental impacts from climate change, such as erosion and flooding. Due to the location of the Island, and rising sea levels, it is at risk of disappearing completely underwater. The increase in storms, and overbearing waves coming at the Maldives, is destroying the land.

Due to the broken up infrastructure (caused by flooding, storms etc..) a lot of the country's money has to go towards constant repairs of buildings and homes. This limits the economy in expanding, because of the risk of losing whatever is built. The Maldives is known to be a vacation hub, however with all of its environmental damage tourists rates drop, impacting its economy.

The people who live here, suffer so much, paying the price of a consequence (climate change), to which they contributed the least to. Their homes keep getting destroyed, and their failed economic development holds them back from solving this matter. The destruction the environment holds, causes them to become refugees.

In the event of mass production, mono culture is instilled, which destroys the environment. As it is not natural, and limits diversity in many ways. In this case, the mono culture Brazil is seeing, is with the mass production of toilet paper, coming from eucalyptus trees. The plantations created to grow these trees, take up not only a huge amount of land, but also water. They also harm the soil and ground around the area because of all the harmful pesticides used. This act, limits the range of the natural environment these forests once had.

Brazil's land easily gets bought up by large corporations, in order to establish grounds for mass production for products, such as toilet paper. It benefits, these corporate companies to work in foreign countries, as it is cheaper for them to produce their products, at a larger scale.

The way these corporate companies have bought up the land in Brazil, is very corrupt as it heavily impacts the people who once lived there. Residents of that land, now used for eucalyptus plantations, were uneducated farmers who were tricked into giving up their land for a lower then its worth price. Resulting in these poor farmers losing everything, and forced to move. The alternative option of staying, is not any better, because those who stay, are surrounded by the plantations, impacting the farming.

The Government of Canada, owns all the minerals underground, allowing them to lease it to oil companies. These companies extract the minerals underground, to create fossil fuels, which has a huge market demand. Specifically the trade partnerships between Canada and America. Oils from Canada, benefit the American economy greatly, because they save on the importing costs.

Since the extraction is so dangerous, families who are settled in areas around the sour gas tanks must relocate themselves. Despite having lived that area for decades. This act, is not only displacing families, but is also ruining all of their handwork they have put in to build their farming business. Farmers demand rights against vile acts they're facing, however the Government refuses to hear them out since they own all underground minerals.
