This is a tool I have created as an additional measure of support to help you access information quickly. Don't hesitate to contact me via email, TEAMs, or phone if you need support. This Padlet should not be used for official communication.

1. Go to the Career Readiness Homepage

2. Hover over the "Educators" tab

3. Select “Curriculum Resources” from the drop-down list.

4. Select “High School" or "Middle School”  

Courses may include:

• State-adopted designated curriculum 

• Approved Supplemental curriculum

• Online Links

Each course will include the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).

If you would like to request supplemental curriculum for your CTE course, please submit your request via email.

This should be submitted by the CTE Campus Admin. / Office Manager. Teacher submissions will be denied.

CTE Teachers should gather quotes and submit these to the campus CTE Administrator.

• Do not include multiple quote requests in one submission.

• Some Purchases (such as NES) require 3 quotes to be submitted.

• No more than 25 lines per quote.

• You can search the list by:

  • adjusting the NIGP Description Filter to "CONTAINS"

    • Search common words related to your need (for example "food" for culinary arts)

Please note that in most cases, computers, printers, etc. are ordered from NetSync and they only supply specific models to HISD. HISD-approved equipment can be found here. 

• Use the district field trip form — no separate CTE form needed.

• For CTE-funded trips, select “CTE” under Funding.

• If choosing HISD buses, enter “N/A” for budget and note “CTE will provide” in Special Instructions.

• Trips route through Principal & Sr. ED, then to CTE for final approval.

• Cluster leads will be emailed for approval — please respond within 48 hours.

• Submit requests at least 4 weeks in advance to meet transportation deadlines.

Local/Regional Competitions

• 💰 Funded by students, parents, or chapter fundraising

• ✅ Only active CTSO members in CTE courses may participate

• 📝 Approval needed for non-attending participants

State/National/International Competitions

• ✅ CTE funds cover registration, travel, and hotel

• 🍽️ Meals = student/parent responsibility

• 🧾 Advisor per diem reimbursed with receipts

• 📆 Submit travel docs 45 days in advance

Leadership Conferences

• 💸 All costs covered by CTSO chapter

• 🚫 Not funded by HISD unless district-sponsored

• No travel should be promised until officially approved

• Non-refundable costs may apply if students cancel
