The value that was shown in overcoming the challange is perseverance. The Government wanted to focus on giving people each a win win situation and to do that they had to sacrifice a lot of time to compromise peoples wants.

Perseverance. This is because there was a lot of stuff to clean in Singapore as there were many shrubs and bushes and trees. And the hardest one to clean was the river which took 10 years to clean.

Singapore back then had to manage very different needs one of those needs was biodiversity as Singapore has little land and they need to build more buildings resulting in deforestation. They needed to conserve the biodiversity of Singapore, while progressing with more buildings to satisfy the ever growing population of Singapore. This is proof of Singapore's hard work and diligence in satisfying everyone's needs despite of how little resources they had.
