The was in 1st person, so you could really know what Lucille is thinking. There was lot's of details so you could clearly see the imagine Estelle Laure was trying to portray. Even though I liked the book I was a bit disappointed in the character development. Most of the characters seemed to stay the same, not developing in any way. The book had a realistic storyline but some of the thing's Lucille is definitely a bit unrealistic. for example Lucille'a father came home drunk beat his wife and emotionally scarred Lucille, yet she seems to forgive him unrealistically quickly. I did like the ending but it was a bit dry and boring, leaving me on a cheesy cliffhanger that didn't really surprise me. Even though there were some glitches in the story, I would recommend reading the story because the story had an excellent and a very good twist of funny and sad. She also took a job at Fred's to pay for bills and groceries.
