In "This Raging Light" the antagonist is Lucille's and Wren's mother is the antagonist. If Lucille's and Wren's mother didn't leave, almost all of Lucille's and Wren's worries would be gone. Lucille would no longer have to work at Fred's in an attempt to pay bills, Wren would not be distant and not herself and Lucille and Wren could focus on thing's that are more their age.

Book Review

"This Raging Light" by Estelle Laure was a very well written book. The was in 1st person, so you could really know what Lucille is thinking. There was lot's of details so you could clearly see the imagine Estelle Laure was trying to portray. Even though I liked the book I was a bit disappointed in the character development. Most of the characters seemed to stay the same, not developing in any way. The book had a realistic storyline but some of the thing's Lucille is definitely a bit unrealistic. for example Lucille'a father came home drunk beat his wife and emotionally scarred Lucille, yet she seems to forgive him unrealistically quickly. I did like the ending but it was a bit dry and boring, leaving me on a cheesy cliffhanger that didn't really surprise me. Even though there were some glitches in the story, I would recommend reading the story because the story had an excellent and a very good twist of funny and sad. Sometimes the story made you smile or laugh, and sometimes you wanted to cry.

Lucille was definitely a leader, She takes care of her sister, packing her lunch, sleeping with her, and washing her. She also took a job at Fred's to pay for bills and groceries. Lucille was a good leader because no one asked her to take care of her sister or get a job, but she did anyway for her sister.
