During those times of fruit shortage, the consumption of bark and vines increases.These large animals are social and live in flexible groups with 2 to 20 people. With the growing people, increasing (cutting down huge numbers of trees) for survival/income farming, and hunting to supply the illegal bushmeat trade, these gorillas face an uncertain future. This Community Conservation Association that manages a core area at the heart of the Mbe Mountains. By providing training and technical support, Inaoyom is enabling the active involvement of local communities in (protecting something from harm), and giving people a sense of ownership over the protection of the forest and its great apes.The support for this community-based (protecting something from harm) is critical as the area doesn't have formal protection.   • I chose this topic because when i was younger i went to the zoo a lot and I remembered how much I loved seeing their cool man made habitats they lived in. I think it's crazy how they are now going extinct and I would love to learn more about them.
