He gives several examples in his playlist, but my favorite is "Julia" by John Lennon. I love the simplicity and the raw tone of the song. It doesn't sound like he was in a recording studio when listening to that song. It sounds as if I am in the same moment that he is singing that song to a friend, live, for fun. The clarity of his voice is something that we don't hear a lot of today and it is something I want to hear more often, personally. "I Can't Help Falling In Love With You" by Haley Reinhart is also like that example; her voice is just out there. There is so much room for harmony and the song is so simple. I love how it feels like I am there in the same place as her. It sounds like she would sound like this in her everyday life.
