During this event, I made my longest lasting friendships with others. These friends had a significant role in shaping my interests and values. They also motivate me to always be my best self.

Significant Event: Coronavirus Pandemic

This global event force me to push pause on much of my social life. The new isolation allowed me to try new hobbies and gave me lots of free time. It also forced me to connect with my parents to a greater extent than before, shaping my values as well.

Entering high school was a fresh start from the previous years that felt dominated by recovery from Covid-19. I took new opportunities to build relationships with others. It was also the start of more freedom and opportunities for me.

I wanted to explore different subjects and challenge myself with difficult classes throughout my education. As I took history classes, I found something I am interested in. This gave me something to invest my time, motivation, and passion in.

Applications and graduating from high school are both important things that I have to accomplish to achieve this goal. Developing myself through participation in extracurriculars and academics are similarly impactful.

This goal contributes to my values of education and persisting through difficult challenges.

Have a Summer Internship

I would have to write applications and compelling resumes to be accepted into an internship program.

Again, the persistence to apply and continue working despite challenges is an important value this goal would contribute to. It would also allow me to gain education in the form of experience.

Travel to Switzerland with a Friend

I would need to plan destination locations, hotels, and restaurants to visit during the trip. Achieving this goal would also require the collaboration of my friend.

My values of the people around me and spending time with them would be fulfilled through achieving this goal. The experience of spending time with someone I value is important to me.

Graduate from High School

Good grades and required classes are two things I need to achieve this goal. Making it through high school means overcoming many different challenges as well.

This goal fulfills my value of education and achieving something that I spent a significant amount of time doing.

Go to A Concert

To achieve this goal, I would have to save enough money to buy tickets and plan when to go.

This goal is something simple to enrich my life and give me more experience.

Learn Another Language

This goal requires consistent effort with practice through reading, writing, and speaking in the target language. Eventually, I would like to understand most media (books, articles, music, movies, etc.) in the language.

This contributes to persistence to do something that is difficult and requires consistent commitment to really achieve results. Additionally, it is another form of education and learning.

Graduate from University

I would have to pass my classes by interacting with professors' lectures and assignments. It would also mean overcoming the miscellaneous challenges that come with university.

Like many of my other goals, this requires both persistence to overcome those challenges and enriches my academics.

Volunteer Weekly

Ideally, volunteering weekly would include finding an organization that is truly impactful and committing to consistent participation.

I hope to participate in and help my community, wherever it may be. This also contributes to positive interactions and building relationships with the people around me.

To achieve this goal, I would have to train regularly with a diverse array of exercises and eating healthy foods. I would also sign up for the race.

This goal factors into my values of determination, persistence, and health. It forces me to consistently choose to do something difficult that will improve my life in the long term.

Have A Job

To achieve this goal, I would have to apply to many different positions. I would also have to have the traits employers are looking for (e.g. education).

This give me education through experience and forces me to learn through adapting to challenges. It also allows me to build relationships with those around me.
