Youth workers should prove to be reliable, trustworthy, friendly and not judgemental. Youth workers should be resourceful and approachable. Young people need to feel they are treated with respect and understood but at the same time, youth workers need to challenge people to encourage changes of negative attitudes such as racist comments.
