First of all, closed thesis statements is a statement of the main idea of the argument that also previews the major points the writer intends to make. For example, everyone should drive a hybrid car because they pollute less, they have better mileage, and they also help to reduce petrol’s cost.

a) There are two major types of thesis statements: explanatory and argumentative. The explanatory thesis announces the subject to the reader; it never declares a stance which needs an argument to defend. These explanatory theses are evident in expository essays and research essays. In an argumentative essay, the thesis statement should be a claim, not a factual statement or a personal response to a topic.

Question : The movie is pessimistic or optimistic about human nature?

Answer : Based on the movie Accepted(2006), the movie is pessimistic about human nature as the main character, Bartleby lied to his parents about his acceptance into a college. Not only that, he didn’t tell the truth to the students that came to register at the university that he created. His intention is good because he believes that each person have their own speciality and hidden talents but the way he handle the problems aren’t logical and very wrong.
