Every year, we proudly support over 150 young people while also giving back to our local communities. From outdoor adventures to leadership programmes, our goal has always been to create a safe and enriching Islamic environment where young people can thrive. ✨

What Does a Trustee Board in Scouting Do?

The Trustee Board is the backbone of any Scouting group, ensuring that the organisation is well-run, financially secure, and able to deliver brilliant programmes for young people. Trustees are responsible for setting the strategic direction, overseeing governance, and ensuring compliance with legal and charitable responsibilities. This might include approving budgets, supporting fundraising efforts, and safeguarding the group’s assets.

The work of a Trustee Board is often supported by sub-committees, which focus on specific areas like finance, property management, or event planning. These smaller groups handle the finer details, making it easier for the wider board to focus on decision-making.

No matter your expertise, there’s a way for you to help. Some key ways you might contribute include:

• Sharing Your Professional Skills: Whether you’re an accountant, a marketer, or simply someone who’s great at organising, your skills can be hugely valuable.

• Helping with Strategy and Governance: Bring your perspective to discussions about the group’s future direction and help ensure compliance with legal and safeguarding requirements.

At our group, every child gets the chance to shine with a Scouting programme packed full of fun, adventure, and skills for life! Whether indoors or out in nature, each session is bursting with activities designed to challenge, excite, and inspire. From earning badges to learning new skills, and even exploring the great outdoors, your child will thrive in a safe, supportive, and exciting environment. 🦫 Beavers (Ages 6–8)

Beavers are our youngest adventurers, full of energy and curiosity! Their activities are all about fun and discovery, whether they’re creating masterpieces with arts and crafts, exploring nature, singing songs, playing games, or going on little adventures. It’s all about making new friends, building confidence, and learning how to be safe—all while having a brilliant time!

🐾 Cubs (Ages 8–10½)

Cubs take the fun up a notch! Whether it’s day trips, camping, or hands-on creative challenges, Cubs get stuck into new adventures and develop loads of practical skills along the way. The programme encourages teamwork, creativity, and personal growth—all while making memories that last a lifetime. Learning, laughing, and growing together—Cubs is where it all happens!

🏕️ Scouts (Ages 10½–14)

Ready for the next adventure? Scouts dive into activities that are all about building confidence, independence, and teamwork. From mastering traditional Scouting skills to organising their own games and projects, Scouts are always busy exploring, camping, and learning leadership skills. It’s the perfect mix of fun, friendship, and responsibility as they tackle exciting challenges and make a difference in their community.

🌍 Explorers (Ages 14–18)

Explorers are all about taking charge of their own adventures. Whether it’s planning epic camps, hiking in the mountains, or trying thrilling activities like paragliding and sailing, Explorers are always pushing boundaries. They can even take part in national and international expeditions! Plus, the Young Leaders Scheme gives them the chance to build leadership skills while helping younger sections. Explorers are all about freedom, responsibility, and unforgettable experiences.

Our sessions are where the adventure truly begins! Held every two weeks on a Sunday, these dynamic and engaging meet-ups are designed to help children achieve specific badges for the term while developing important life skills. Each session is packed with activities that spark curiosity and excitement—whether it’s crafting creative projects, tackling team-building challenges, learning first aid, or picking up essential outdoor survival skills.

At the heart of each session is an Islamic Circle, where we teach children key Islamic values inspired by the Quran, the Prophets, and hadiths. These lessons are tied into Scouting principles, encouraging children to embody kindness, respect, responsibility, and gratitude in everything they do. It’s about helping them grow spiritually and morally while they learn practical skills and have fun with their friends. Every session is a perfect mix of fun, learning, and personal growth, leaving children excited to come back for more!

🏕️ Camps

Camps are the highlight of every Scout’s journey and a fundamental part of Scouting life! At the end of each term, our Scouts pack their bags for an action-packed camping adventure where they put all the skills they’ve learned during sessions to the test. They’ll pitch their own tents, cook over campfires, navigate using maps and compasses, and tackle exciting outdoor challenges.

But camps are about so much more than just practical skills. They’re opportunities for Scouts to build independence, form lifelong friendships, and create unforgettable memories. Whether it’s stargazing around a crackling campfire, tackling a ropes course, or discovering the wonders of nature on a hike, every moment is designed to build confidence and resilience.

For many Scouts, camps are where they step out of their comfort zones, try new things, and discover what they’re truly capable of—all while having a blast! It’s a time of bonding, learning, and growing, not just for the children but for leaders as well.

Giving back and connecting with the community is a cornerstone of Scouting, and our Scouts are always eager to get involved!
