We have the power as educators to influence LGBTQ students mental well being.  By doing simple things such as examining how we use terms (boy/girl), a classroom/office audit for representative materials and being aware of/supporting the use of different pronouns we can have a big impact on how students feel comfortable in our environment.  This may be the only environment they can feel comfortable or may be a source of much greater stress, depending on a few simple choices by educators.
