All practitioners are expected to contribute to the planning padlet, including intentional and responsive planning to ensure a wide range of experiences have been recorded to inform the next planning cycle.

Practitioners record at least 2 observations within each child's individual, online learning journal. In addition observations are recorded on group sheets for practitioners key children and on sticky labels which are shared with keyworkers to allow an all round picture of each child's learning, development and progress.

Families are invited to come along to nursery to meet their child's keyworker and complete essential paperwork before attending a stay and play where they can meet other families starting nursery at the same time. A second stay and play is held just before their child is due to start nursery with us and this is normally the child on their own, but this very much depends on the child and family. Key workers, at this point, can discuss transition plans with individual families as some may benefit from a slower transition to ensure it is successful.

Adapted Play Strategies Training with the EYIS - Kirsty Griffin 06/11/24

Most of the nursery team were able to engage with Adapted Play Strategies training, particularly for our Strong Start 2s but also to support our children with ASN. Currently Kirsty Griffin is coming into the setting each week to support our youngest children and those with significant needs.

End of Year Review

Staff were keen to review the year, and were asked to share what worked well and what didn't work so well and suggested actions to improve.

Actions taken forward are:

*having a Christmas Stay and Play instead of a show

*Increased outings to local Park

*One table for mark making

*Pegs in alphabetical order

*Further development of children's end of year reports

*2 fundraisers a year

We are still working towards an efficient system for tidy-up time in such a large setting, our floor book planning has changed to limit the number of grouptimed to 1 a day and training to be accessed around science and digital learning.
