La Encyclopédie, ou Dictionnaire raisonné des sciences, des arts et des métiers es una enciclopedia editada entre los años 1751 y 1772 en Francia bajo la dirección de Denis Diderot y Jean le Rond d'Alembert.

Su propósito era reunir y difundir, en un texto claro y accesible, los frutos del conocimiento y del saber acumulados hasta entonces a la luz de la razón.

Contiene 72.000 artículos de más de 140 colaboradores, entre ellos Voltaire, Rousseau,etc 

La idea de publicar una enciclopedia en francés nació de la influencia y del éxito editorial en Inglaterra de la Cyclopaedia de Ephraim Chambers, así como de la publicación del Diccionario de Trévoux compuesto por los jesuitas. Aunque también es de destacar la existencia de una amplia demanda de los lectores de este tipo de obras. 

Para la ordenación temática y estructural de la enciclopedia, Diderot y D’Alembert se inspiraron en el árbol de los conocimientos humanos de Francis Bacon y también tuvieron en cuenta a Descartes y su Discurso del Método. Los términos identificados en el árbol de conocimientos se ordenan por orden alfabético.

Entre 1747 y 1750 se empezó la preparación de la obra. En 1750 se publicó el Prospecto de la Enciclopedia, redactado por Diderot, que ya suscitó polémica con los jesuitas y por fin en 1751 se presentó el primer volumen.

El trabajo original consta de 28 volúmenes, con 71 818 artículos y 3129 ilustraciones.

In her essay 'A room of one's own' (1923) she exposed the difficulties that a woman writer faced during the 20th century; an area that was mainly carried out by men. She became a great symbol of literary feminism at the time thanks to the novels she wrote about the masculine and feminine condition and other aspects that focused on the position of women in the society of that period. In his writings, he also expressed the use of violence by men against women and the repression they carried out in a political and intellectual way.

He liberated women through fashion, mixing clothing considered at the time as masculine with feminine attire, creating the first pants for women. In addition, he popularized the 'garçon' haircut, ending the long-haired style and created the tailored suit for working and independent women. On the other hand, she was the first known female entrepreneur in history: in 1910, she opened a workshop where she embroidered her clothing collection.

The lawyer Adolfo González-Posada y Biesca was born in Oviedo in 1860. After completing his law studies, he went to live in Madrid. A convinced Krausist and follower of the theories of Giner de los Ríos, Adolfo Posada defended the equality of women throughout his life.
Author of innumerable essays, his most interesting works are those in the field of sociology and law. Regarding equality, his theories are collected in some articles, as well as in his best-known book: Feminism, from 1899. It is said that it was he who popularized the term feminism.
In it, Posada analyzes feminism from different perspectives (physical, moral and economic), explains the differences between the different currents of feminism of the time, talks about feminism from other latitudes and criticizes the prejudices that exist in society regarding the equality of women.
For Posada, feminism is “the movement in favor of improving the political, social, pedagogical and, especially, the economic condition of women.
