For example, a class Kahoot can help students establish a baseline on where they are in understanding the concepts. Students with a certain score can then try various JeopardyLab trivia. Some students can start at level 1 of a JeopardyLab trivia while others can jump into level 2 or above.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In pairs, students can write a poem about their own identity using a metaphor as its guiding force. The students can choose to develop a metaphor that makes the familiar strange.<br><br>After all students are done writing their poems, the instructor posts the poems on a document or Canvas page and labels them using numbers.<br><br>In a Canvas small group discussion forum, students attempt to guess who wrote the poems. The metaphors in the poem serve as clues to determine who was the writer.<br><br>Alternatively, this can be done in person. The class sits in a circle and the instructor passes out the anonymous poems. Students take turns reading the anonymous poem they got and attempt to determine who was the classmate that wrote the poem.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Divide students into groups of 3-4. Each student is given a section of a reading. Students are given 5 minutes to complete their section of the reading and take notes. Once the timer is up, the students take turns explaining what they learned in their section of the reading.&nbsp;<br><br>If the lesson takes place in a synchronous setting, the instructor can use Zoom and place students in breakout rooms. They can use Canvas collaborations to write notes on their levels of expertise.</div>]]></description>
