Creative writing

My name is Eyad and to me it's more than just a word. My parents chose it carefully because they wanted my name to carry meaning and strength. The name “Eyad” comes from Arabic and it means support or strength and when I first learned the meaning and felt proud because it reminded me that i should try to be someone who helps others and stands strong like the name itself. My parents once told me that they picked this name because they believed i would grow up to be a person who gives support to family and friends. I like that story because it makes me feel special and gives me a goal to live up to. Sometimes when people call my name and it feels like a reminder of the kind of person i want to be.

Firstly, my name was chosen based on a thoughful idea of my parents, Loai, it might seem as a weird name or basic to people, but to me it really means a lot. My name is unique than most names, I got it before i was born. I was named in the thought of someone, a doctor that helped my parents for my birth.

My mother and father were going to a doctor called Dr. Loai, he helped my parents a lot with birth stuff and made sure my mom is comfortable. He made sure the birth process went smoothly without any hard times. When it was time for my birth at a hospital, my parents decided to name me Loai in honor of him, since he helped them with everything to make sure its all a stress-free process without any worries at all. In my thoughts, I love my name, my name is really unique and always praised among my friends, I keep getting comments like, "Mashallah your name is so unique," or, "Mashallah you have such a cool name."

Im always thankful for that doctor, thanking god and him for me entering the world with no problems in my body systems and I have a healthy life, all because of his and god's help.

Ever wondered why I was given the name Ahmed?

Even though its a common name there is a very amazing family story behind it. When I was born, all my family members had their own idea about what my name would be. My parents wanted something traditional and unique, something with strength and meaning to it. But in the middle of all the serious discussions, my sister quietly said, "Why not Ahmed? " She said it with so much confidence that everybody paused. Somehow, it felt right and ageless, and deep with respect. Its a name that a prophet had which makes me proud to have such a name. My parents liked that it embraced our culture and faith, but for me, the enchanted part is that my sister chose it. When I hear my name, I don't just hear its unique definition—"the one who thanks" or "most praiseworthy". I hear her. It reminds me of my sister, my culture and where I came from. My name reminds me of family, of love, and of the one moment when my sister's voice shaped part of me forever. It makes me who I am.

Have you ever considered how greatly your personality would change if you carried a different name? My name is Zeyad. I never really asked where it came from until one day, out of curiosity, I asked my parents. When I asked my parents about my name they shared the story with me and told me everything about why they chose to name me Zeyad. My father told me he named me after someone he respected from his youth who demonstrated generosity and vibrant personality. My parents selected this name because of its powerful sound and discovered its meaning as "growth" and "abundance" which confirmed their choice. At first, I didn’t think much of it. But now, I kind of like the idea that my name means more than just letters. The meaning of my name creates an expectation for me to continue growing while achieving more in life. I question how differently I would think if I had a name that was more common among people. Zeyad gives me pride because it defines my individuality.

I am Amr Bondok. When I was born my parents didn't know what to call me. My mother wanted the name Ahmed because of her father's name, she wanted to name me Ahmed because he died and I was looking like him so she wanted to name me after him, and it was meaningful in her family. My father preferred something shorter and easier to say. He decided on Amr inspired by Amr ibn al as a leader known for his wisdom in history and muslims. My surname is Bondok, which was passed down from my grandfather, and it means hazelnut. My parents felt that both names together created something special. I have grown to really value my name as it makes me feel different from others. Sometimes I imagine how my life might have been if I was called Ahmed, but I know my name shaped who I am today.

What is one of the most common names in islam? Mohamed, mohamed is a very common name and has a lot of history. It has big faith and religion, honoring the Prophet of Islam (may peace be upon him). My parents chose my name to reflect their respect and admiration for the Prophet, who is a very important guide in our lives. The name mohamed is loved by everyone. When someone says my name first thing on their minds is the prophet mohamed (may peace be upon him). My parents at first were told I was going to be a girl. They thought I was a girl. One day my dad told one of his friends who was going to Kaaba. to pray for us while he was there. That day he had a dream that I was born a boy and my name was Mohamed. My parents told the doctor and they still said that I was a girl. My mom felt something was wrong. Until the 7th month they discovered that I was a boy. They were happy and ended up naming me Mohamed. They named me after my Grandpa, my uncle, and the prophet Mohamed (may peace be upon him).

Ahmed is a normal name and a traditional name, but Alaa feels lighter, cleaner, and more personal. In Arabic, Alaa means “nobility” or “greatness,” like something reaching up for the sky. My parents chose it because they believed that I will achieve being a football pro. As I grew up, friends, coaches and even teachers used to call me Alaa. It was easy to say and it felt phenomenal . Over time, it became the part of me and attached to my achievements, and the little moments and memories that made me Alaa.

Even though Ahmed is part of who I am, Alaa is the name that truly feels like me. When I hear it, I feel like that name represents who I am, the dreams I am chasing, and the promise that I kept to myself and going forward and being disciplined to be a professional football player. This is me and I really love being Alaa.

My Name is Taim and for me personally I really like my name. I have never in my life thought of changing my name because it has a beutiful meaning to it and when most people ask for my name they expect Mohammed or Abdullah but when they hear my name they become surprized and mesmorised in how my name is. It is simply because they have probably never heard it before or heard it but couldn't know its meaning. The meaning of my name is to be enslaved by love or to be passionately devoted and also my name can be interpreted as:• One who is deeply in love• Captivated or devoted, often in a spiritual or emotional sense and in classical usage, it could also mean servant or devoted follower, especially when used in compound names like Taim Allah which means the servent of god.

The name of Islamic prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) father was Abdullah and it's a common name among Muslims. My name shows one of the most important parts of faith. It reminds me to always worship, be grateful, and follow God's will. In Islam, my name has a lot of deep meanings, showing who we are and what we value. These meanings encourage me to be a better person, help someone, and serve others. Also, my name makes me feel like being a part of Islam community with other Muslims, showing that we all have the same faith.

Have you ever wondered the origin behind your name? Well I have so let me tell you the story behind my name, Arif Cagan.

I got named by a religious scholar that my parents were fond of, the scholar even named my dad, my siblings, all of my cousins, and even all of my uncles and aunts, so our story with this scholar and my family goes way down in history.

When i was born my dad directly sent a letter to the scholar saying that we want you to name our kid. He accepted the offer and invited us to the place he mainly stays at. We came there, he wrote the name of my dad on a small piece of paper and made a weird equation that no one really knows. First he got the name of Mahir Celik (a turkish name) but then he noticed that this name had a bad reputation in turkey, by noticing it, he changed his mind and modified my name to Arif Cagan, a well known man that gave his entire realestate to finance schools all across the world (especially in remote places from technology).

I love the story behind my name that's why i'm proud of it. But it is sometimes difficult to pronounce in stranger countries, so I also sometimes have ideas of changing it to a more globally prounounceable name. But if i actually change it, I feel that it will dishonor my old name, the name that I was proud of. It feels like betrayal.

What about you? I would like to know more. Tell me about the story of your name.
