         <description><![CDATA[<p>Display Question: </p><p>Referring to an article in the textbook about trave: "Where is Alisa going on for her vacation?"</p><p>Effect on student Talk:</p><p>In this question, student would refer to the textbook to find the correct answer. This type of question only have one correct answer, based on the reading materials. There are not many opportunity for students to engage in dialogue with the teacher or their peer other than to answer the question.</p><p><br/></p><p>Referential question: </p><p>"Have you ever travelled outside the country? Do you think it would be fun?"</p><p>Effect on Student Talk: </p><p>This is an open-ended question that encourages students' participation. The question asked about the students' personal experience and opinion, which promotes critical thinking. Students would refer to their personal experiences and reflects on them to answer the question.</p>]]></description>
