I knew him from 1974 when i moved to Concord. When my boyfriend was dying back in 1981 Hans came to see us often. He took my bf and I for a ride in his Cordova many times.. he took us to the river where we would all ponder life..try to understand why people have to die early.. he was always so polite. So nice Such an honorable friend. So good to us. I loved hearing his stories and jokes. He always had a great booming laugh that never failed to make me smile. I remember Hans as being so sweet and genuine. Such a kind, good person. I know he loved his family more than anything and my heart is with the Hahr's. He would always offer to help me with anything I needed just because he loved helping others. He cared about his family more than anything and loved to talk about all the wonderful memories he had of his daughter and I. He just had a really big heart and I will always miss him. I know though that his wonderful spirit will always be here with us. Love for his daughters, his parents, siblings and extended family. He was quick to greet anyone walking into Grandmas, and never shied away from giving help or showing his love.  He will be missed and remembered for his humor and story telling.

Either photos of a beautiful view he had seen, telling a funny joke, or  most of all, his love for his family. He had so much love and so many good things to say about his girls and their families, as well as memories and photos of his own family growing up. He had such a big heart and we will miss him very much.
