         <description><![CDATA[<div>1) Who is the leader of this country and how long have they been in power? Kim Jong Un is the leader of North Korea since 2011. The Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea. He is the 2nd child of Kim Jong-il and Ko Yong-hui. <br><br>2) What type of government structure do they have (Unitary, <br>Dictatorship.<br><br>North Korea is a communist stat in Eastern Asia bordering Russia, China and South Korea. The government of NOrth Korea has been dominated by the ruling Workers' PArty of Korea since 1948. The East Asian country has its government structure fashioned on the Soviet model, where the primary principle is self-reliance on its national resources. The government of North Korea subscribes to communist ideologies under a dictatorship.<br><br>3) How does their government work?( Dictatorship<br>IT IS A SINGLE PARTY STATE<br><strong>EXECUTIVE-  </strong>The head of the government is the Premier. The Premier is elected by the  Supreme People's Assembly. As head of the government, the Premier appoints the cabinet as well as the other 3 Vice Premiers.  The Premier, in collaboration with the ministers implements and directs national policies as determined by the Workers' Party of Korea's Central Committee.<br><strong>LEGISLATIVE</strong>- The Presidium is the principal legislative institution in the country. The Presidium is mandated to oversee legislative affairs in place of the Supreme People's Assembly.<br><strong>JUDICIARY-</strong> the Central Court is the supreme judicial institution in North Korea. Judges to the Court are elected by the Supreme People's Assembly. Cases are mostly heard by one judge and 2 people assessors. Special cases may warrant the presence of 3 judges.<br><br>4) Who controls, or what type of media control do they have?<br>The media of North Korea is amongst the most strictly controlled in the world. The constitution nominally provides for freedom of speech and press. However the government prohibits the exercise of these rights in practice, unless it is in praise of the country and its government and leaders.<br>5) What is the “SHAPE” of your country on a map (e.g. compact, elongated, etc...)?North Korea is elongated.<br>6) What type(s) of boundaries does this country have (physical and/or geometric)?<br> North Korea shares a border with 3 countries: CHina, Russia and South Korea.<br> Most of the North Korea is a series of medium sized mountain ranges and large hills, separated by deep, narrow valleys. Along the west coast are 3 wide plains.<br><br>7) Names of 2-3 Supranational Organizations they are a member of and the year<br>they joined.<br>1.Member of UN bodies in September 1991<br>2.Multilateral Inter- Government Organizations<br>3.          <description><![CDATA[<div>The name Korea derives from the name Goryeo.North Korea’s  supreme leader is Kim Jong-un.  Capital of North Korea is Pyongyang. Their form of government is Unitary one-party under a totalitarian dictatorship. North Korea officially describes itself as a self-reliant, socialist state and formally holds elections. Most services such as healthcare, education and housing and food production are subsidized or state funded.<br><br></div><div> There are three main branches of government of North Korea, legislative,  executive and state affairs commission of North Korea. North Korea is widely accused of having perhaps the worst human rights record in the world.</div><div>	North Korea ha a civil law system based on the Prussian model and influenced by Japanese traditions and communist legal theory.. North Korea media are under some of the strictest government control in the world.</div><div>	Despite a historically strong Chinese influence, Korean culture has shaped its own unique identity. Koreans are encouraged to learn and speak Japanese, adopt the Japanese family name system and Shinto religion, and were forbidden to write or speak the Korean language in schools, businesses or public places.</div><div><br></div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>
