The video portrayed Charlemagne as a powerful leader of Rome, who ruled with an iron fist he killed barbarians and also Vikings if they didn't leave after he asked them to and he killed them in the name of god. It says he's a hero as well as a villain because it tells you he killed Vikings and barbarians one by one but he also did it to protect his church's and land but he also killed people if they worshiped a diffrent god/gods but gave them a choice to convert to Christianity and live with them and work as peseants he also changed the perspective of kings and raised the bar of needs he Felt that he needed to learn and write because he wanted to know what the monks and priests were talking about

Matias, Karinna
Charlemagne was portrayed a hero in the reading because in paragraph 4 it statesthat Charlemagne reunited most of Europe, spread Christianity, and spread Education. These heroic achievements would of made his grandfather proud. Charlemagne spread Christianity with military conquest and gave a opportunities to the people to turn against their own religion and turn Christian. One of the heroic actions were giving the people a opportunity however if he had to he will force people to turn Christian. He also improved education imposed on the Roman Empire and gave opportunities to the rich and poor to learn or go to schools. Charlemagne knew if he educated all his people they would rediscover the glory of Rome.
