It reminded me that learning can happen in a variety of environments, and that when we give learners (both ourselves and our students) the chance to do something out of the norm, we can inspire and motivate them in very different ways. 

I think that before we can expect cognitive flexibility from our students, we have to develop such an adaptable mindset ourselves.
