    Economic: Spain seizes the Philippines. They conquered and colonized Spain in 50 years. Philippines became a key lime in Spain’s overseas trading empire. The goods the Philippines were mainly known for were copper materials and coconut oil.

    A powerful company formed by wealthy Dutch merchants. They had full sovereign powers in which they could build armies, wage war, make peace treaties, and govern overseas territory. It’s political because it had to do with trade and the government.

    Economic- Philippines 
    Took over by Spain after Magellan claimed the archipelago in 1521. Over time Spain conquered and colonized the islands and Spanish priests wanted to convert Filipino people to Christianity. Missionaries from the Philippines tried to spread Christianity in China and Japan. This shows political because it involves other tribes/groups that have to make decisions based on there keeping of safe.

    Economic-the British and French both followed the path of the Dutch and made east India companies, each company organized its own army of sepoys.     Political~ Line of Demarcration- divided the non European countries into two zones. Spain had trading and exploration rights in any lands west of the line. Portugal had the same rights east of the line, they were agreed in the Treaty of Tordesillas. 



    Economic- Cape Town- was the first permanent European settlement to supply ships sailing to or from the East Indies. It helped the ships get supplied when going on long voyages and helped the town make money.

    Social: West Africa lost countless numbers of women and men resulting in some states disappearing forever.  
    ~Why?: It is social because states are part of a social aspect of life and so are people, and slave trade effected them causing the numbers to decrease.

    Political: The Asante and the Oyo Empires would capture other African Americans and sell them in the slave trade.
            ~Why?: This is political because the main to Empires are in charge, and they are the ones selling/ trading people for goods.

    Economic: During the slave trade the two Empires traded people and gold for guns and gunpowder.
